What can they do to improve and be a playoff team again next year besides stay healthy?

As for the answer: Trade everyone. I mean EVERYONE except AD. And build from the start around him.

I have a hard time seeing AD not requesting a trade soon. Not only has this team really sucked, now word comes out he has been playing with a torn labrum for THREE years. This leads me to think the team doctors, FO, etc.... SUCK. I wouldn't care if they just paid me big money, I'd be outta there as fast as possible. I might even threaten some medical malpractice lawsuit for the $12-24M it looks like he'll lose because they are shutting him down for the rest of the season.

They need a leader. Doesn't have to be an elite level player, just a wily, veteran leader (Jason Kidd in NY and Charles Oakley in Toronto).

Adding on-court leaders like veterans David West and Jared Dudley would do wonders.

Draft Buddy Hield at #6 and bring in players that can fit into Gentry's system. I expect Dell Demps will be fired, and whoever they decide to bring needs to start adding some younger up-and-coming players to surround AD. We've already seen a few nice additions throughout this season with Tyler Ennis, Tim Frazier and even Brice Dejean Jones (before he got injured). Frazier in particular has been excellent at PG.

I was wondering, if some prospects aren't their for the Hawks at 21, I was wondering if the Pelicans would want to do a small trade on draft night?

21 for 39, 40, and and unprotected 2nd round pick in 2017

Pelicans move up 18 spots from 39 to 21 and the Hawks get 3 second round picks.

Some folks on our Hornets forum are talking about how Ajinca would be a nice big to trade for to give us more big man depth and some long arms to provide some help with rebounding and rim protection.

How do NOP fans feel about an Ajinca trade? Would you expect real assets in return, or would something like a future 2nd be worth it just to clear cap space?

I think he's a solid backup, wouldn't deal him for space unless we had some starting center out there we could acquire that was too good to pass up.

I wouldn't however, say no to a better fitting rotation player. (wing)

Obviously can't have 3 centers and Asik is not all that moveable right now.

What would it take to get Tyreke Evans from you guys? I still believe he has all the potential in the world to be a top player. He just seems to be wasting away in NO, and will more than likely leave anyway after next year.

Not a lot but it would take positive value. He seems to be a bad fit here, but you are not going to find someone of his talents in FA for as little as he makes this year.

39 and Tyreke for 21 would do it.

Outside of that I don't see any assets that make sense for ATL to move for him.

Maybe the future Minny pick
Maybe Thabo.

21 for Reke and 39 is about along the lines of what I was thinking of.
