Kings/Hornets trade

Post#1 » by sackings916 » Thu Nov 20, 2008 11:38 pm

I posted this on the trade board and was told there were basically no Hornet fans there, so im hoping to get a few responses here.

There was another variation posted to this a week or so ago, I think this deal helps both teams moreso than that one.

Kings trade:
John Salmons
Mikke Moore

Hornets trade:
Julian Wright
Mike James
Rasual Butler

Why for Kings: Add Wright to the core of young talent the team is moving forward with. This move also clears more cap for 2010.

Why for Hornets: Upgrade their SG spot to Salmons who gives them a scorer/slasher other than Paul. Moore gives them depth up front and is perfect for the pick and pop with Paul.

Chandler/Moore
West/Armstrong
Peja/Posey
Salmons/Peterson
Paul/Salmons/Brown

How would you rate Salmons and Moore's defense?

Salmons is a good man defender, plays the passing lanes, and is also versatile defensively in that he can guard 1-3. He may get overpowered by bigger SFs though, I would think thats where Posey comes in. Moore is a poor man defender, and about average on the weakside. Where Moore will help the Hornets is offensively with his ability to hit open jump shots and finishing around the rim, both which Moore has a great opporunity with Paul creating a ton of open jump shots and alley oops for Moore.

J Wright ain't going anywhere, and right now i'd rather suck this year and get another young player than take on extra years salary.

Stephen Jackson for Mike James and Rasual? Sign me up!! Somehow I don't see Warrior fans liking the idea though...

I'd do that in a flash, the Warriors one anyway.
