The Cubs fanbase and Chicagi media is torn on whether or not to keep Jeff Samardja. The Rays will NOT be able to keep David Price and cant score runs. With the Cubs farm system and need for good pitching, this makes perfect sense.

-One of their young A prospect bats OR Rizzo Olt Castro or a combo of the two
Cubs get:
-David Price

The Rays will get a solid pitcher as well as a fantastic young bat to insert into their lineup and allow them to keep for multiple years.
The Cubs get a top tier pitcher WORTH paying a lot of money for their future. Lefty and they still have a bunch of bats to make their offense top 5 in the NL
