blake beavan last years #1 has been promoted from extended ST to Clinton in Low A and is set to make his 1st start soon

and i'll start 2nd guessing the decision to take him over rick porcello in about a month. but seriously im excited to see what he's got

By repeating a level and striking out right under 8 per 9 in 23 innings gets you in top 50 status? In that case Jaime Garcia is a top 10 prospect.

Um, he's 20 years old. He'll be in AA by the end of the year. He's on track...

EDIT: He's got a 21:3 K/BB. With the exception of one bad start, he's been nearly unhittable.

Most likely. But I'm glad he is showing good control so far. I still think he'll be Top 50 by next years' rankings. And Rowell will be back in the Top 100. And Nick Noonan. And Daniel Carroll.

By the way, Pete Kozma is god-like although I highly doubt he keeps up what he's doing, but if so, definite top 40 prospect.

Niese has been terrible to end his last two starts. Cruising through 4 innings each start then getting bashed the last 2 innings of each start.

ERA jump from .71 to 3.44

Eh, you'd probably just look like a guy naming a prospect from his favorite team's system.

By the way, where do Gamel and LaPorta go from here? Oakland for Harden and Street?

I really doubt Gamel is traded. He has more value to the Brewers than he would to another team and the last thing we need is another injury prone starter, no matter how good he is when he's healthy. Just hope that Gamel can fix his throwing and be the 3rd baseman of the future.

I honestly don't expect any moves, especially if the offense continues to play like garbage.

Yeah, no way Gamel or LaPorta get traded. They fit the Brewers mold of not being able to play a lick of defense to well.

Gamel is worse at third than Braun. 260 games at third, .863 fielding percentage. Braun was an .895 fielder in the minors.

Both utterly atrocious.

Are these all really throwing errors for the most part? I guess that would be encouraging.

Yeah, Gamel has much better range at 3rd than Braun did. If he can get his throws fixed he'll be fine.

I'm not sure about Gamels range, I just know he had -24.2 SFR, which was 6.7 more than any other infielder in the minors last year.

Man I'm looking foward to a team that has Fielder, LaPorta, Braun, and Gamel in the field. Granted they all can hit, but damn that is going to be the worst defensive team ever.
