Here comes the cavalry...

Post#1 » by WizStorm » Wed May 27, 2009 4:56 am

First, Bergenson was called up for his major league debut and has pitched very well.

Today was Berken with his 1st major league start and got the win in a solid effort.

Thursday will be the strikeout artist David Hernandez' turn with his ML debut.

And Friday is the prodigy Matt Wieters long awaited ML debut.

And we haven't even scraped the surface of the talent laying in wait in the minors ready to burst upon the scene.

Also forgot about Nolan Reimold getting the call up for his major league debut weeks ago and looks every bit as the long-term solution in LF, knocking Pie to the 4th utility OF role.

Been a long time since seeing this level of home grown talent coming up from the farm system.

Reimold with a walk off home run yesterday. This team is going to be fun to watch over the next two years.

They have yet to call up 3 pitching prospects, I believe Arrieta, Matsuz and Patton are major league ready or close to it.

All we need is a third basemen, shortstop, and first basemen.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

I know most of my fellow Baltimoreans disagree with me, but I really like the direction of this team.

That game yesterday was awesome.

I know I'm just setting myself up for disaster but we are close to .500. Could we possibly...? Nah...

(Maybe?)

That was one of the most pathetic excuses for a road trip that i've seen. It's like everyone decided to go into a prolonged slump all at once. The hittng was non-existant and the pitching was spotty at best.

Hopefully, the the mere sight of Camden Yards will help these guys obtain at least some form of mediocrity back into their games. I was expecting some ups and downs from the youngsters, but not like this and certianly not from the veterans as well.
