Toscano hit .356 with a .440 on-base percentage and a .452 slugging percentage during the 2012-13 season, when he played for Villa Clara in Cuba’s Serie Nacional, the nation’s premier league. In five seasons in that league, he had a .300 average and .396 OBP with seven triples and 13 homers in 614 at-bats.

Toscano has played mostly left field but has enough speed to play center, some scouts have said. The Braves want to see him in center field during spring training. The general consensus so far has been that he lacks the desired arm strength for right field.

With signing all of these pitchers I don't believe the Front Office believed in Hale long term anyway.

Salcedo, once a top prospect of the Braves, never seemed to put it all together. I don't think he ever made any appearances in ATL.

Hart making moves!

I had already counted Salcedo as a player to watch in AAA along with ManBan, Folty, Peraza, Toscano, Terdo, and Jenkins. Oh well still plenty of young talent to watch down there this season. Maybe this guy will make it during the season.

We also signed Jose Veras to a minor league deal.

We have to be trying to build some of these relievers value up for midseason trades.
