2-2 headed into the 7th, I think Garcia will be done for the night, 6 IP 8 H 2 ER 6 K 2 HR on 101 pitches 67 for strikes. We need to score here in the 7th, force them to go into their pen too.

Avilan gets in a bit of a jam in the 7th, but gets AGon to pop out to RF after being down in the count 3-0, forcing it to a full count, Dodgers had runners at 2b and 1b with 2 outs. 3-2 Braves heading to the 8th.

Carpenter allows a Puig lead off dbl in the 8th and a 2 run HR to Uribe, 4-3 Dodgers. :banghead:

Braves 1-2-3 hitters due up in the 9th, it's do or die. 4-3 Dodgers end of the 8th.

Dodgers win 4-3. Huge mistake by Fredi Gonzalez in the 8th, had Freeman playing off the 1b line, the ball on Puig's lead off dbl in the 8th just got by the glove of the diving Freeman. They had C Johnson guarding the line at 3b, but not Freeman at 1b. :nonono: :banghead:

Really good regular season for us, but again fall short in the post season too early.

Braves had a 3-2 lead in the 8th, and Kimbrel didn't get to come in. That's a tough one, if we just could have got him the ball with the lead, whether for a 4 out save or 3.

Fell asleep with the TV on. Woke up in the 7th to see we had a 3-2 lead. Fell back asleep and when I woke up, the game had just ended. Celebration told me all I needed to know.

Wonder if we considered having Kimbrel pitch the 8th and 9th since this was a do or die game? But hey, it's only fitting. Everything went south for us this series. Pitching and hitting were both sub par. Why not have the best relief pitching staff in MLB be the one to blow the lead? Just kinda fits for what happened to us this series.

Great regular season. Disappointing post season.

Guys, enjoy the rest of the Playoffs. I wish each of you and your families a terrific upcoming Holiday Season! See you all in the Spring!

Quite frankly, this is becoming to commonplace for this team over the past sat, 15 20 years. They dominate the regular season and seemingly choke playoff time. It's not as though the team isn't talented enough, but somehow they just can't seem to win it when it counts. I've been there for the 15 years that this team could be pencilled in to win the NL East, win 100 games and predictably fall flat on their faces in the playoffs. The braves have got to be one of the best regular season franchises of all time with only one world series trophy over the last 15 20 years to show for it. i just think this team honestly peaks at the wrong time...

The Braves have lost the last 7 playoff series they have played in. Fredi is 1-4 in postseason games.

Fredi may have made a mistake or two, I agree. I think Uggla should have been on the roster. But our bats were just silent for the most part. And the pitching was definitely sub par for the staff. I lay the blame for this series loss squarely on the shoulders of the players. Most of them just failed to show up for the series. Fredi did OK for the most part. And Wren did a great job of putting together this team given the limitations from ownership. This team should have at least made the NLCS if not the Series.

I agree, it's on the players. The only Braves with more than 1 RBI in this series were Jason Heyward and Chris Johnson. Mac was 0-14 with no RBI in the series, J Hey 3-18 with 4 RBI, J Upton 2-14 with no RBI, Freeman 5-16 with no RBI, Gattis 5-14 with 1 RBI. Our big bats failed to produce, a combined 5 RBI & 1 HR between Heyward, J Upton, Mac, Freeman and Gattis, with 4 RBI from Heyward. Chris Johnson was our best player going 7-12 with 4 RBI, in the series.

And our pitching staff was pretty horrible with and ERA over 8.00 in the series.

Guys, it's always an honor talking baseball you all. It was heartbreaking, I was tracking the game on my phone last night and just dropped it when I saw the HR. See you guys in the Spring

This may be trivial but to honor the season and our involvement with it, this thread deserves to get to 1000 posts.
