Yah hopefully they can really show the Orioles who is boss this week and wake up against them. Solid chance now to crack over .500 and climb out of the cellar. How about the standings so far, Baltimore,Tampa, Toronto, NYY, Boston. Talk about bizzaro world.

Cody Ross out with a broken foot. That sucks for him. The sox didn't need another injury either.

looking like they should probably call up Posednik. I'm not comfortable with Linsanity as everyday RF

So we got Crawford, Ellsbury, Ross, and Sweeney out.

IMO got to go with Nava, Byrd, Gonzalez in the outfield. Use Ortiz at first and call up Lavarnway to DH.

Well they put Gonzo in RF at Fenway last night. With Youk at first and Middlebrooks at 3B. Lucked out cause not one ball was hit to him. If I had to choose Gonzo would be playing left field at Fenway... less ground to cover...etc. It's a tricky situation. They really want Youk in the lineup to show off his versatility, etc. It looks like more of the same today. :-/

Was at the game last night, **** awesome. Salty's walk-off landed like 5 rows in front of me in the bleachers. Let's win today and win the series and get over .500 finally. We need Buchholz to get back on track.

After a misthrow in right, gonzo hits a three run hr to give the sox the lead. Shows emotion on how good he feels after that one. Awesome.

Gonzalez has been fine in the OF, but I'm with DW he should be in left.

My question is if Gonzalez can play the outfield, why can't Middlebrooks? He's has to have more range out there.

They want him as 3B of the future and they don't want to mess with that. I don't know. I think it should really be on him to go out and play OF where the team need shim, not a veteran like Gonzalez's job.

On another note, Sox over .500! 25-24 after beating Verlander and the Tigers last night. Big hit by Daniel Nava. Crawford who?

I agree that Middlebrooks is the future third baseman of this team, but I don't think playing in the outfield for a month and half is going to curb his development.

Looks like the Sox are going to need to make a move if Pedroia does end up missing a month. Nick Punto can't hit his weight. I guess they could go with Pedro Ciriaco who I thought should have been the utility guy with this team from spring training.

Not much in the farm either. Nate Spears is pretty much the only other option.

Nah, it shouldn't. I remember Youk playing some outfield early on.

I too would rather have Middlebrooks play the outfield over Gonzo.

Is Iglesias hurt? He'd be the logical call-up I would think. I was starting to hit a bit in AAA.

Yeah he's hurt. I agree just move Aviles to second and you could get Iglesias some MLB ab's.

Big Yankees series coming up tonight.

I would love to see a sweep. That's just being unrealistic though. 2 out of 3 is what I want to see.

Love how this thread just died in Mid July. What a disaster of a season.
