Line up today: Bonifacio CF, Lake LF, Castro SS, Rizzo 1B, Olt 3B, Castillo C, Schierholtz RF, Barney 2B, Samardzija P

Kind of surprised seeing Castro in the 3 spot, but no major surprises. Let's get this season started right!

I hear you. It's been far too long since I've went to a game. Just got myself some Cubs/Cards tix for July. Can't wait.

That top of the 8th inning was such a Cubs inning. It already hurts and it's just 1 of 162.

Yup. Just can't do anything with runners in scoring position.

When does football season start? Kidding, but not happy with the simple base running errors. They will always cost you games, especially on a team that will likely not score many runs anyways.

On the positive side, pitching was excellent overall.

Definitely a good sign with the pitching overall.

I watched intermittently so was there more base running errors besides Bonafacio? Almost willing to give him a pass since he was at least trying to make something happen as he saw the futility in the bats behind him.

Jackson vs Morton tonight at 6:05pm. Hoping Jackson can be more consistent this year.

Jackson's last start was very good and he pitched better in ST after his first outing. Ideally he's a back of the rotation innings eater, but I have hope he can put together a more respectable year.
