emilio is still raking but jackson got lit up

with the way the offense is going, if they can manage 6 runs in a game - we really need to win that game

it just makes sense, we get great pitching and no offense but when the offense shows up the pitching sucks

Jackson was bad. Bullpen technically blew it, but they've been so good lately (sans Varas) I'm not going to get on them for one run.

Castro and Rizzo seem dialed in after a slow start, so that's a positive. But I have a feeling it's going to be good offense or good pitching most games, but not both. Might be too early to predict, but has that kind of feeling.

Emilio has been amazing. We really need some other guys to step up. Olt hasn't in limited ABs, Shierholtz, Sweeney, and pretty much the whole outfield plus Castillo aren't producing.

Starting to look like the best line up is something like:

Bonafacio CF
Kalish RF
Lake LF
Rizzo 1B
Olt 3B
Castro SS
Valbuena 2B
Castillo C

I think Schierholtz , Sweeney, and Barney are fine to spot start, but I think the others like Lake, Kalish, Olt, and Valbuena need to get the bulk of ABs.

pretty early to be talking trades but do you think schierholtz is a guy that could get moved? weren't they thinking about moving him last year but decided against it?

I think he's pretty likely. Unless there's an injury on another team, more than likely it's closer to the deadline, but he's a solid bench guy on a reasonable deal so there's sure to be interest.

I like him, but I think with Sweeney on board one of them is redundant if we want to see what the guys possibly in the long term plans have.

What a crappy ending today. wood with a great outing and bullpen collapses.
