Jackson is one of those guys that teams like because he eats a lot of innings. He can also keep your team in the game if you score a lot of runs.

Great listening to him, but I laughed so damn hard at that.

unfortunately he hasn't even been eating up the inning lately - had a decent start yesterday before he hell apart. it would be nice to have him get to 6 innings most of the time

EJax is on pace for 190 innings. It would just be nice if his BABIP would correct to more normal level so he could get another 4.00ish ERA season in. The four years before he signed with the Cubs he had a 3.98 ERA. There was no reason for him to just fall apart at 30 like he did.

Can't believe we're having this much trouble with the Dbacks.

Rizzo is a beast. Arietta still pitched well, but the rest of the offense was stymied. Alcantra has cooled off, but had a nice clutch hit. Coughlan's catch was amazing.

Not looking too good for avoiding a second half spiral if we get swept by the Dbacks out of the break.

The W-L record doesn't matter in the second half. What matters is how Rizzo, Castro, Alcantara, Arrieta, and other younger players and prospects perform and develop.

Well...... being in position to draft either Daz Cameron, Michael Matuella or depending on how his long term health shakes out Brady Aiken would certainly not be a bad thing. 8-)

No doubt this is important for the long term success though. Lets hope the young guys do good and we keep losing for just one more year.
