7 above .500 and a game ahead of the brewers, this second half turnaround has really been remarkable

stinks to blow it like that

contreras continues to tear the cover off the ball, this is like rizzo leading off - getting to ridiculous levels of good

if i could make the rotation i think it would look like this.
I know addison is on the dl so will omit him.

J lester
Arrieta
Hendricks
Quintana
Lackey

Tbh i think thats championship caliber.

Relief:
Montgomery
Carl edwards junior
Wade davis
"Newly acquired closer from trade, name escapes me"
Strop
Rondon

I think thats servicable, those are the best guys i could name, thats 6 guys i feel pretty ok about.

For the steak and potatos:

C. Contreras
1b. Rizzo
2b.Happ
3b. Bryant
Ss.Baez
Rf. Heyward
Lf. Zobrist
Cf. Jay

Pretty dynamic if you ask me. Batting order i wont nit pick, i trust maddon number crunching and attention to detail.

Bench:
Schwarber
Almora jr
Avila
La Stella

After a nice start to begin the 2nd half its starting to look like a bad streak. Hopefully we can right the ship and Contreras isn't out too long.

wow contreras hurt is a real bummer, got to out of hand with our (my) praise of him

not great timing with the cardinals winning 5 in a row and coming on strong

hopefully we can right the ship and keep this thing afloat - might have to put rizzo back in lead off

good thing we got the backup catcher

Let's keep it going. The trade for a back up catcher who is starter level quality is looking even better.

Ive seen happ play 2nd a few times this year. I know outfield is where he typically plays, ive seen him throw some lame ducks from center so i trust him more at 2b in that particular situation.

Now that the cubs are dealing with injuries keeping kyle schwarber holds value because he may be a legitimate pencil in considering we are undermanned.

Looking at our schedule over the rest of the season there's a whole lot of Cincinnati and Philadelphia there, which is good IMO.

Should be an interesting couple of weeks.

I was screaming when they didn't send Heyward in the 9th. They need to get the win tonight. The division is too close for them not to take advantage of a favorable schedule to finish the season.

beat the blue jays today though, i like that the offense is really cooking now

also i should mention that schwarber is back above the mendoza line, he's been hitting pretty well since he came back from iowa
