Hardin is no Ben Wallace. And, I would say that there was a reason Wallace wasn't selected in the first round coming in. He improved his game before coming into the league- proving everyone wrong.

I agree Hardin isn't a Ben Wallace, just making the point that if he can make that type of impact in the NBA, he should be a lotto pick easily.

How's Dalembert as a comparison?
Thriving on mediocrity since '89.

I believe that's who Jon compared him to in a conversation I had with him, but I think Hardin's probably less of a shot-blocker than Dalembert and more of a rebounder. Once again, leading to the Tyson Chandler comparison, as Chandler is less of a shot-blocker than Dalembert and more of a rebounder.

Was thinking the same thing. Hardin will be a fine pick with whatever mid-late pick we get in the eventual Bibby trade.

And of course Hawes isn't a good offensive 4. He's a good offensive 5!

He's sort of sounding like a mix between KMart and Dalembert with KMart's agression/power mixed with Dalemberts rebounding/shot blocking/lack of offensive game.

Fair call?

I really want to see him play!!

Sounds fair, but Hardin has a poor man's Dalembert's blocks, if that makes sense.

I think so. Is it that he's not as athletic as Dalembert or not as long? Is his timing not as good?

Is DeVon a better on ball shot blocker or help shot blocker? Can he do both equally well?

I personally don't rate Dalembert very high as a shot blocker - by that I mean he's good but he's not elite. He tends to get most of his blocks due to his length and he sure as heck isn't very smart!!
