****!!!!!!! Lakers got Gasol

Post#1 » by The Sheik » Fri Feb 1, 2008 7:48 pm

The Commercial Appeal has learned that the Grizzlies have traded Pau Gasol to the Los Angeles Lakers for center Kwame Brown, rookie guard Javaris Crittenton and first-round draft picks in 2008 and 2010.

The decision was made that the Grizzlies could no longer move forward with Gasol on and off the basketball court.

The deal allows the Grizzlies to gain salary cap relief, as Brown is in the final year of a deal that pays $9,075,000

This is bad news for the Jazz. Farmer, Kobe, Odom, Walton and Gasol make for a very formidable lineup. They could very well win the West now.

John Paxson looks so dumb right now. All he had to do was get PJ Brown in a sign and trade and throw in Ty Thomas. I dont get what Memphis is going to do with their Bevvy of PGs?

Lowry
Conley Jr
Critt

Just seems like Memphis was desperate. Hey at least our immediate future looks good...no Gasol tomorrow.

The Lakers were doing better because they finally got there big man in the middle playing to his potential. I don't think we'll see much of a change until Bynum comes back. He's been the deciding factor for them. I think there will be growing pains, but I agree the Lakers will be scary once they are at full strength.

Not good news. I can not believe that the bulls or any other team could not come up with a better offer. Gasol has really been playing well of late.

Damn the Lakers just got scary. Looks like old Jerry West pulled a McHale to help out his old team. This sucks...

Lakers team to beat!!!! Can the Jazz still beat them in playoffs yes bc lakers maybe one year away from putting it together and getting guys like Gasol, Farmar, and Bynum playoff experience might cost lakers championship for this year... BUt formiable team for years to come.

DAMMIT ALL TO HELL!!!!

Lakers just went from good to great and Memphis went for bad to worse. I hate the Laker's... well my day just went crap. I guess it'll be all the sweeter when we dominate them... right?

Does this make sense for Memphis to any of you? Did they just draft Conley Jr. and they're getting Crittenton? I don't get it.

We should offer to help Memphis blow it up: trade Harpring and Almond for Miller.

Hmm the Laker have the fastest turn around. Do they ever really suck for years at a time? Nah...
