I really don't think this trade will make too much of a difference for LA, or at least not this season.

That definitely sounds like a comment from a Jazz fan who do not watch Laker games night after night. Lamar Odom who we call ODUMB, shows up 1 out of every 4 games. Only his rebounds are constant. Kwame makes you cringe everytime he touches the ball in the post, and when you send him to the line, he shoots less than 40% at the FT line. You don't think a consistent 2nd option for Kobe who puts up 19pts and 9boards while shooting 50% from the field and 80% from the FT won't change the lakers much?

Hmm... okay.

I'm just saying that I think it will take a little while before Gasol starts making any bit of difference for the Lakers.

LJ: PG13 bud.

;)
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

You expect a Jazz fan watching a Lakers game night after night??

Briliant.

About Gasol, I think he's a very good player. If he's gonna work, only time will tell, Id say so, but we have to wait.

Regards,

Well right now they have two good players in the picture. But they still don't have a very good pg with great ability passing the ball.

Yeah but that comes from a guy playing on a team that has never been that good and he has always been the main option. Gasol will be good for you guys, but dont expect 20 and 10 from him, cuz you probably wont get it.

what???

anyway, i have to disagree with some of you by saying that this does in fact make the lakers alot scarier right now. Come on!!!

Fisher
Kobe
Odom
Gasol
Bynum (when he's back)

And if you don't know by now, you probably should know that the lakers have a solid bench. Farmar could be a starter on tons of teams, Turiaf and luke Walton just do their job, etc. etc.

This is not a team we should underestimate.

What I dont get is how Memphis doesnt ask for Turiaf, Vuaijic(SP) or Walton. Its like us adding Gasol for Collins and Almond.

The Lakers win just by never having to put Kwame Brown on the court again.

But yeah, they just picked up a 19/8 big man for pieces that were contributing virtually nothing to the team this year. Sheesh.

Mitch Cupcake looks like a genius for pulling off this trade. His counterpart in Memphis should be run out of town on a rail. If KOC traded boozer for pocket change and bellybutton lint, I would be rather chafed.

Thats a great trade, but . . .

How are they going to afford to pay Kobe (biggest contract in the league), Gasol's sizable contract, and than give Bynum the extension is mosdef going to get?

So next year the Lakers are:
Bynum
Gasol
Walton/FA?
Bryant
Fisher
Not a team i fear.

No, Odom is still there next year (unless traded). He expires the offseason after that.
