Hey all. I got into football when I moved to San Diego for college in '99. Went to UCSD for a few years and then moved back to L.A.

Ironically, I actually grew up a Raider fan (when they were in L.A.). It was more out of association though, since I wasn't really that into football. But my dad has been a longtime Raider fan. I've been able to have a lot of fun with him watching the Chargers humiliate them the last few years . But hey, I paid my due during the leaf era (his last name doesn't deserve capitalization).

I like this forum a lot and I'm looking forward to talking football with all of you. Now that the Laker season is pretty much over (:() I can look closer at the Chargers and their new draft picks. Can't wait for the season to begin!
 THEY WILL PAY FOR THEIR BASKETBALL REASONS

First game I saw was indeed a Raiders game. Man, still remember Howie Long and John Madden and had no idea who they were then.

Now, with LA without a team, I've been cheering for the Chargers for about four years now. Yeah, I may not be a die hard Chargers fan, but I do like LT and Merriman. Actually read an article about Merriman's side about his life and his side of the steroids allegation. Now I'm a bigger fan of his than before. LIGHT OUTS!

JJ was actually hoping you'd be big on this board, glad you joined us! DB, didn't know you were a Charger fan, but I know you're a good guy on the Laker board so I'm stoked. :D

Thanks Doc. Well I've always been a huge fan. Originally a 49ers fan ever since the 80s. When the 9ers went to the TO era, I kind of lost interest even before TO became TO.

But got into San Diego more since they are the closest So Cal Football team. One of my favorite Chargers players was Drew Brees before he left. I'm not much of a Rivers fan but I'll give him a chance.

Anyway, by the time the season starts, I plan on going to Chargers game so its going to be great this year. ^_^

Poor Rivers, I feel the same way. It's not his fault, but every time I see him make a mistake, I imagine Brees making the play and :banghead: .

Yes, I prefer Brees over Rivers. But you got to give the kid a chance. While Brees is battling for the MVP ...doh!

Yeah it's tough on a new board. I'm trying to enjoy knowing that once we build it, it we'll have a sense of accomplishment. I'm open to any ideas for generating discussion. Feel free to PM me.

Waiting until the season actually starts would do it.

Or you can photoshop River's heads on Men's Gay Magazine to stir some conversations.

Hey guys, I'm a new NFL fan... I'm having a hard time being a fan of MLB or the NHL. The NFL is the closest thing to the NBA with high scores and where you can actually see the defense do something.

I saw this past Charger's game against the Colts and had a blast (and I couldn't say that about watching the Dodgers or Kings).

My sports heirarchy:
1. NBA
2. NFL

3. NHL

4. MLB
