most consecutive 25+ points games in a season

Post#1 » by Ito » Wed Feb 3, 2010 5:24 pm

Anybody else saw it on espn?? I cant remember the exact numbers but Jordan was first with like 40.. Iverson 2nd with 27.. then it was jordan again and then Kevin Durant with a 22 game streak going right now... Hes on fire this season.. and im surprise Kobe is not up there on this list... and another thing that stands out is how underrated Iverson is!

I believe durant is 4th right now if you count Jordan twice. Dude's having a monster year.

I believe KD is shooting 51% from the field during the streak.

IVERSON shot 43% from the field during his streak. (just saying)

He's shooting 53.5% in the last 22 games. 63.5% TS%.

This is also further evidence of how great Jordan was. He far outpaces the next guy on the list.

I'm surprised too that Kobe is not up there. However I think he has the record for most consecutive 40 point game and 50 point games.

I honestly believe Kevin Durant, as soon as he gets a competitive team around him (which he is actually not too far from right now), will be a top 5 player. He is almost there.

The next step for him is postseason dominance.

I'm shocked at how quickly Durant developed. The fact that he has done it as such a young age means that he has plenty of time to plug any holes in his game (similar to what Lebron was able to do).

Right now, he is probably a top 3 scoring talent and if he can round out his game and improve his turnovers and playmaking, i think LeBron vs Durant matchups in the regular season and (getting a bit ahead of myself) perhaps in the postseason will become one of the most competitive head to heads in the NBA.

he already is a top five player easily! i'm a kobe homer, but right now KD, and LBJ are 1a. and 1b in terms of the MVP this year.

Wilt averaged 50 per game one season. I don't think he ever went under 30 all season. Now that is impressive.

How can Jordan have a record of ~40 consecutive 25 point games, when Wilt has the record of 65 consecutive 30 point games?

Yeah Durant is unbelievable, at 21 he's already leading the league in scoring, that's happened VERY few times, Lebron, Kobe, Iverson, Jordan, and Wilt never accomplished this. I could dig up further but I doubt anybody has done it, and there is no doubt that Durant will finish at top this season.

What amazes me most about MJ is his career FG%. Look at the comparisons.

Lebron 47%
Kobe 45%
Durant 46%
Jordan 49.7% Wow!

Iverson 42.5%

In the playoffs MJ has the scoring records while Wilt has the season scoring records.

Yeah, he did. He scored under 30 three times, twice in the regular season and once in the playoffs—all three games were against Russell.

And if it said Jordan was first with 40, that's BS. Wilt didn't score less than 26 in 1961-62 in the regular season, so the record would be 80. Including the postseason, it'd be 91.

Not that I doubt that Wilt is first, but where are you getting this info from? That's pretty detailed box score information that, by most accounts, doesn't exist for games back then.
