Al Horford's Trade Value

Post#1 » by Paxson » Wed Mar 31, 2010 1:47 pm

This board seems to have a diverse opinion on Al Horford.

What do you see as his trade value? What/who would you trade from you favorite team to land him?

Wow, that's a lot from OKC...

I can't think of much from the Lakers Id give up to get him. Pau is out of the question, obviously, as it Drew. Odom, too. He'd be great in OKC, for perhaps Green, Krstic and a pick.

cant say we'd get him for less (hawks still say no probably)

but a core of

Westbrook
Thabo
Durant
Serge
Horford

would kick ass

With Johnson most likely leaving, I could see Atlanta trading Horford for the #2 to #5 pick + an up and coming player(s).

If the nets land the #3 pick, would ATL be interested in:
The #3 (cousins), Courtney Lee and Yi for Al Horford?

Nets
Lopez
Horford
Gay
Williams
Harris

ATL
Cousins/zaza
Smith/Yi
Williams/evans
Lee/Crawford
Bibby/teague

I'd rather have Cousins than Horford, let alone add Lee and Yi. DeMarcus is far from my dream choice in the draft, but he is a better fit alongside Brook and a bigger, younger body who doesn't need a massive extension next summer.

The Nets would be one of the least likely teams to make a competitive offer for Horford. We have a franchise C, and we plan to upgrade the PF spot via FA or the draft.

Al Horford's value is rather high - he's a high character PF/C with very good basketball IQ, passing, defense, and rebounding, who also has leadership qualities. He's also gotten better every year.

Horford is a PF stuck playing C IMO. The price is a touch steep, but I'd rather have Horford than DeMarcus (too concerned with his mental makeup).

The extension part is a fair concern since it really eliminates the ability to spend in both 2010 and 2011.

Or you could keep all those guys and give some good bank to Haywood. Yeesh you're giving up a LOT for Horford.

he's perfect is the thing

young, can hit the outside jumper, score efficiently, proven solid defensively, very good rebounder, was arguable but he did make an all star game this year

exactly the C the Thunder need

obviously id try talk down the price but if thats what it took

This is a terrible deal for the Hawks.

Fit-wise Horford would be nice, but value wise I like Cousins.
I would even prefer Favors given a nice 4 year rookie deal.
That offer is WAY too much like you said Ecuhus.

The fact Horford is due an extension hurts his value, but he is still a very nice player. Too bad Atlanta may not be able to spend the money need to keep JJ and extend Horford. If I were Atlanta I would look to see what Smith or Horford could get since I think both are better suited at the 4.

Blablabla...ATL will never go for the offers mentioned. Horford and Smith are ATL future. Would OKC trade Durant?

Charlotte would love to have big Al but I can't think of a package both teams would accept. We would gladly offer Stephen Jackson + Nazr and would throw in a pick if we had one.

I would think the Pacers would gladly give our pick this year (probably like #10 at the rate we are winning - F###!) along with another piece - Hibbert or Rush... you got any long contracts you want to get rid of? We got expirings - Ford, Murphy, Dunleavy, Foster. You want Hansbrough for some reason? OK.

The Wizards would be happy to offer Blatche, but the would make the Hawks situation of having PFs rather than Centers worse.

I would love him next to Brook Lopez, I think they'd be great together.
