Orlando/Miami/Washington
Miami, Orlando and Washington discuss S&T, shuffle draft picks… Toronto and Philadelphia want in too
Nothing is imminent, but with the 2010 NBA Draft looming, the Miami Heat, Orlando Magic and Washington Wizards have discussed a possible sign-and-trade scenario involving Heat forward Udonis Haslem and Wizards swingman Josh Howard. The proposed trade has the Orlando Magic receiving the aforementioned Haslem, Miami sharpshooter Daequan Cook, and former Clippers pick Al Thornton (whom the Wizards received in the three-team deal that sent Antawn Jamison to the Cavaliers). Miami, looking to solidify its core in order to attract free agents, is rumored to receive Josh Howard, Orlando back-up center Marcin Gortat, and Orlando’s No. 29 pick. Washington, who are determined to build a young nucleus around consensus No. 1 pick John Wall, get Miami forward Michael Beasley (a former No. 2 pick), Orlando forward Ryan Anderson, Miami’s No. 18 pick, and Orlando’s No. 59 pick. However, nothing is set in stone, as the Toronto Raptors (who could sign-and-trade star forward Chris Bosh) and the Philadelphia 76ers (who hold the rights to the No. 2 pick) also want to get involved in the talks.
In a separate deal, the Raptors and Detroit Pistons have reached out to each other about a Hedo Turkoglu-for-Tayshaun Prince swap, a trade that fell through at the deadline in Februay.
I found this on another forum... The guy who posted this stated he got this from a Hip Hop site. But provided no link

Re: Orlando/Miami/Washington
if the trade has any credibility (which i don't concede it did), it was all lost when it said a Hedo for Prince swap could occur.

I still can't see why everybody loves Haslem that much when we have the exact same player on our team already in Bass. And Cook & thornton? What's the point? Who's gonna backup Dwight? Anthony Johnson?

You never trade within your own division. Especially something as huge as this that has been proposed by the OP.

In this scenario Howard goes to miami.
Aside of that I think Miami could really be interested in Gortat after another great season jermaine gave them(ugh 1 reb in 28 mins? xD)

Otis would be anticipating losing JJ/Barnes if he would want Cook.

Re: Orlando/Miami/Washington
So basically we trade Gortat + RYNO + #29 + #59 for Thorton, Haslem and Cook.
No Deal, I think we should be able to get much more for Gortat.

Re: Orlando/Miami/Washington
I don't like this trade because I dont feel like our draft picks should be included, especially for a team so deep in cap hell like us.
I also don't like that we're doing a 3 way trade within our division. Just seems very unlikely. I do think Daquean Cook would be great in our system but we do have Redick who's been here from the start. Rather just re-sign him.

Re: Orlando/Miami/Washington
Haslem is a better player than Bass
Al Thornton makes 2.8 million and Daequan Cook makes 2 million, so they are cheaper alternatives than Barnes and Redick.
We would then have the full MLE and the BAE to get a point and a center.
It's not the greatest trade, because while Thornton could move into the starting SF role, he isn't the smartest player.

I don't see why we would target a lanky SF who can't even shoot the 3.

Re: Orlando/Miami/Washington
I don't see how this trade would put us over the top.. Trade Gortat, Ryno, 1st, and 2nd for Haslem, Cook, and Thorton? This may also means we lose Barnes and JJ.
So..
Losing:
Barnes, JJ, Gortat, Ryno, 1st, and 2nd
Gaining:
Haslem, Cook, and Thorton.
Yea, definitely not an upgrade. Beside, who knows if Haslem can get off the bench with Stan's love for stretch fours. If Stan want to go big and have Lewis at the 3, why don't he just try putting Bass at the 4? They are comparable players, same size, and play pretty much the same style.

Good thing that this most likely isn't true.
Cuz it's a bad trade.
