Kevin Seraphin

Post#1 » by yungal07 » Fri Jun 25, 2010 1:15 am

Looks like our pick at #17 (BSPN confusing me with their coverage).

Big body at 6'9. Raw...might not come over this year.

Anyone seen him play?

I think this was a bad pick. Especially considering he is not coming over any time soon.

Idiotic. EG deserves a kick to the nuts. Why is this idiot still allowed to run this team?

I'm pissed. I wanted an immediate contributor, at least as a bench player or body. Doesn't make any sense.

Seriously? WTF kind of rebuild is this when a player you draft isn't even supposed to come over for another 2 years!!

Why? Why do we need an immediate contributor? What exactly do you expect our record to be next year? Seems to me we should be focussing on 3 years from now, not next year. For that purpose, Seraphin might make good sense.

But who said he stays in France for two years?

This isn't the NHL. Who is the other team waiting on a player from overseas to come over? Probably the dumbest team in the league, the Timberwolves.

We don't need anymore raw players on this team. It's history repeating itself with EG! Every freakin year!!

If all you're going to do is b1tch about EG, take that to the "Fire EG" thread, please.

I think he comes over b/c he'll get PT right away. No problems with this pick. With his athletic tools, he wouldn't last till 30, especially because teams could stash him. If we wanted him, we had to draft him at 17.

True, but we have enough projects as is. Apparently this guy's weakness is low basketball iq...I don't know. Some more polished guys who can at least play for us immediately, maybe a small forward or a center would have been nice...

Again take my opinions with a grain of salt, never seen the guy play, this is more of an immediate gut reaction.

Or traded with a team at, say, 23 or 24 and NOT had to take on Kirk Hinrich and his multi-year, multi-million dollar deal.

The BSPN guys mentioned that he could stay for 2 years in France and then acted like is what he would do. But then again, they kept acting like it was the Bulls' pick and said they would want him to stay overseas to save money.

On that note, I have to say that this quite possibly the worst set of commentators i've ever heard for any draft ever. Why can't the NBA channel be like the NFL channel and have their own competing draft coverage.

Why would you take on Hinrich's contract and a #17 Raw player where there's a very strong possibility he'll never be in a Wizard's uniform? You do that on the 2nd round not the freakin 1st round!! Hopefully, there has been a change in plans on the Hinrich thing or else I'm beginning to think we're out to make other teams better.

Step back from the ledge much? Are you in the war rooms? Are you privy to the conversations that are going on between GMs? Have you seen Seraphin play?

Yes, I've seen him play and he's raw! No, I was listenting to the commentators but looking at the Wizards' history with the picks from overseas makes it look like a bad decision. Our past overseas picks never put on Wiz uniform. It wouldn't be too bad if this was the 30th pick but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth at the 17th pick.
