If he can't dominate the NBADL he has no shot at getting a contract with an NBA team. Look at the Oscar Robertson numbers Terrence Williams put up in the D-league.

In case anyone was wondering what Terrence Williams' stats were in the D-League:

28 points, 11.3 rebounds, 10.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 50% from 3

It makes me wonder what an above average player would do if they played in they played in the NBADL for a while...
