Was Tim Duncan robbed of a Quadruple Double in Finals?

Post#1 » by Flynt Flossy » Wed Sep 14, 2011 6:16 am

Watch the entire video. There are 10 blocked shots that Duncan had a piece of (at 5:38 and 5:55 were the ones that weren't counted...at 5:39 u can see the shooter going up with the ball, and at 5:58 is the second block that he didn't get credit for. I saw the Clyde Drexler video and decided to post this...

Its insane to think that he may have had a Quad Double in the FINALS clinching game...

After they won, a bunch of topics were started about Duncan actually having that quadruple double. There were a lot of people who even went back and re-watched the game to count the blocks, and got 10.

So as far as I'm concerned, Duncan got 10.

He earned that Finals MVP. Duncan is just as impressive as Shaq w/o Shaq's physical gifts.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

I think this is as close to a robbed quad we'll ever see, yes.

Did they credit that 2nd block (5:58) to Robinson instead? It does look like it was Duncan's block.

That first one (5:38) should have been an easy call. Even though it wasn't a traditional "shot" if he had been fouled during that, it was a "shot" and not a pass.

It's a damn shame that they can go back and take a rebound away from LeBron for a triple double, but not give Duncan the two blocks he had to earn a Quad Double..

Is Duncan really considered that boring that the post with 'Nique doing it in the regular season got like 10x as many posts as Duncan doing it in the Finals? heh

Quadruple-Double or not, it'll be a damn sad day when Timmy retires. What a player...

20, 20, 10, and 8 in a championship clinching game. One of the best performances I've ever seen. True greatness.

Never really went back and counted every block but it does indeed look like he actually got 10, which makes this even more impressive than it already was. I miss the hell out of early 2000s Duncan. :(
