Extend Jennings, Louis and Clutts.
Draft Floyd, Adcock, Jones and Brewster with the first four picks. Draft for depth at ol, de, cb with the rest.
Sign a lb who could compete with Roach.
Replace Kellen Davis.
Replace Idonije.

Not as sure on Louis. Last year was really bad and two weeks ago he gave up 5 (!) sacks and last week had at least two false starts. He was just starting to shine before that but now I'm down on him again.

I'm fine with Kellen Davis.

Next year we can slide Spencer to C and Louis to RG.
I would also look at extending Cutler, Urlcaher, Tillman and Chris Williams since they'd be going into the last year of their contracts.
Also re-sign Melton, DJ Moore and Craig Steltz.
Not sure about Wootton yet.

Although I agree that Spencer should be playing his natural position of Center, our Guard situation is a little more complicated. Remember that Garza is currently our starting C, so if we move Spencer there we're gonna have an extra guard. Either Garza & Louis are our starters, meaning Chris Williams shouldn't be extended. Or we extend Williams & let either Louis or Garza go. I don't think that we should pay three starter-type guards when that money can be used elsewhere.

I think Garza will be gone. Louis and Williams are both more talented and much younger. If we draft Brewster he can eventually replace Spencer

Hopefully, our new GM will sort it all out.

Why would Garza be gone when we just gave him a contract extension a few weeks ago?

What am I missing? I thought Garza was the one guy you hold onto. I rarely hear his name called and, for an offensive lineman, that's a good thing. I imagine he stays put at center. No sense in jacking him around with another position switch.

Forte will not play without a long term deal. That's headed for a holdout situation. I'd sweeten the offer, but wouldn't sign him to that deal his side wanted.

For God's sake I'd bring in a proven veteran backup QB.

I think our O-Line will be fine when we get back to our Game 1 starters. We need another swing tackle. other than that I'd keep it the same.

I'd put BIG money into a big veteran WR in FA.

On defense, id go hard in the free agent market for a DE. let Izzy go our take a reserve role.

Our D Tackels are actually having a good year. Melton could get 8-9 sacks from the DT spot. Awesome production - he leads all DTs in sacks. That said, I'd let Anthony Adams go.

I'd cut Merriweather and sign another veteran safety as a reserve. I like how Steltz has looked. I'd look to resign Cory Graham as my 3rd CB and drop Bowman down on the depth chart but keep him around.

I'd hold onto Kellen Davis. He's tall.

"There's been a wrong and we've acted. We have a track record of doing that," Bears general manager Jerry Angelo said. "Unfortunately a situation arose that caught us off guard, but we are to the point where we are going to do the right thing. And the right thing is to cut Sam Hurd."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"When we do our homework on players, we have a very sound and tested methodology that we go about researching all players from college to veteran free agents, and it starts in college," Angelo said. "We spend an inordinate amount of time on character, making sure we know the player as well as we can. But no system is foolproof.

"But for me to sit here and say we should have known something that we didn't know. No, I can't say that in this case. There's no foundation for anybody to say that. There are no facts. There's no flags that anybody could present tangibly to say that we should've known otherwise. I want to make that perfectly clear to the public, to our fans."

From the mouth of Jerry Angelo.

Only one thing can summon up my reaction to that news.

"Bellineli is a better creator than Korver. And Nazr is a much better offensive player than Asik. So even if our bench is worse defensively this year, it's going to be a lot better offensively. Great job, Front Office."
