I'd like to know how you define "great"?

2008-09 34-48
2009-10 46-36
2010-11 35-47
2011-12 13-19

Totals 128-150

That doesn't look so "great" to me.

Skiles is probably the only thing right about this organization.

Look at this shipwreck of a team he has to work with:

Jennings/Udrih
Livingston/Dunleavy
Delfino/Dunleavy/Harris
Ilyasova/Moute/Sanders
Gooden/Leuer/Brockman

Our purportedly best player is only consistent at getting injured. Our "leadership" is supposed to come from a guy who cares more about his mixtape. Our trainers can't hydrate our first round pick.

Is there one, single, solitary player in that rotation who is an NBA starter? One? You're lying to yourself if you answer yes.

Bogut.

Wait, no. He's hurt. :(

The corner stone of the franchise that Hammond decided to build around will have missed a total of 130 of 312 of those games.

Considering Bogut's been injured, those are GREAT records for the **** teams Hammond's given him.

Bucks were out of timeouts though. So they'd have had to make a three while first needing to go the full court with only 3-4 seconds left.

The Suns fired him too. There was talk at the time that his methods were wearing thin and frustration with how he was handling the team.

That doesn't sound familiar at all.

Yeah, sounds like John Hammond's style of building garbage teams.

I can understand why people want to fire Skiles. I can't understand why anyone would want to fire Skiles and keep Hammond.

How many are advocating that? I don't think there are too many in that group unless I'm mistaken. At this point, I think they both should go. I can't come up with a compelling argument in favor of either one right now.

I've said this before, but I really do think that would be my last straw.

Of course there is.

Jennings and Bogut are near all stars. How you could argue that they aren't starter level talent is bizarre.

Ersan, Delfino, Dunleavy and LRMAM could start on a bunch of teams.

Leuer and Harris have starter potential.

Even Beno, Livingston and Gooden have and can start for some teams too.

What you've done besides overrating our top 2 is basically prove the point that this team sucks.

If Scott Skiles was hired to a mythical 10 year contract and a new GM came in and rebuild, I could see us winning a title or at least contending, even with Skiles' methods/shortcomings.

If the same was said for Hammond and he was able to pick a new coach but kept his same methods of building a team...fast forward 10 years and we'll be having this same discussion.

That's the point. They aren't on the same plane and aren't even in the same universe in terms of what is important.

That was a policy of their gm or owner or something. Skiles had nothing to do with it.

Seriously. It basically reads

"We have two starters, both who shoot 40% and one plays great defense along with a team of fringe starters.

Jennings at this point is a fringe starter as well, IMO. He hasn't even been as good as Ersan this year.
