Favorite College player that never made it

Post#1 » by TONY_YAYO » Mon Feb 20, 2012 6:55 pm

Whats your Favorite College player that never made it due to injury or just not flat out making in the NBA.

Mines was Jay Will one of the best PG's to come out of Duke. He could shoot pass play D One of the best players to play in college at one point. Due to stupidity and also being young got hurt from a motorcylce accident fractured his leg and broke his pelvis. And his hoop dreams was shattered. I thought he was goin to be the PG for Chicago for long time but that didnt turn out so good.

was such a great leader in college, too bad he sucked in the NBA

Cleaves was very good PG @ MSU just never translated to the League. But I loved them MSU teams Izzo had some real talent around that time. Cleaves, MoPeete, JRich, ZBo my favorite on the squad was Charlie bell

yea ive always been a big fan, NCAA games in Canada were hard to come by but MSU games were a plenty

cleaves didn't have overwhelming speed and he was undersized, couldn't stretch the D consistently but he was never afraid of big moments

I wish Jason Gardner would have made it. He was stellar in college (played as a starting PG for 4 years, including the NC vs Duke as a soph). I think he was in the same boat as cleaves. Gardner was undersized, not a freak athlete, or lightning fast either.

Agreed. I also loved Maurice Ager when he was with Shannon Brown. Was sad he went to several undesirable situations and his career kind of fizzled out.

Also speaking of Chicago point guards, I loved Khalid El-Amin. After a solid rookie season he faded off the map. He was a heckuva player at UConn

Wayne Simien for me. He did win a championship with the Heat.....playing no part in it I'm sure, but loved him when he was with the Jayhawks.

Scotty Thurman, Dionte Christmas, John Gilchrist and Mikhail Torrance for me.

David Lighty may soon be added to this list, Jeff Pendergraph as well.

Ed Cota and Lawrence Moten are great honorable mentions as well.

Maybe Shaheen Holloway too.

I dug Omar Samhan's game from a few years ago. Has to be one of the most gifted post players of the last 10 years, he just wasn't NBA caliber physically
