Michael Beasley for JJ Redick

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=7q7bze5

• It's no secret that Minnesota is likely to trade Michael Beasley, with the most interested potential suitors being the Boston, the Lakers and Orlando. The Magic are pursuing multiple avenues in an attempt to improve the team in the hopes that a long playoff run could persuade Howard to stay. If Orlando holds off on trading Howard at the deadline, sources say Beasley could be a viable piece for the Nets to add as they try to upgrade their talent to make the team more attractive to Howard and Deron Williams.

I'd love that, especially followed with a Barea trade, but I just know they're probably only going to offer J-Rich.

I've been saying it since last season. People laughed at me then.

I don't think New Jersey caves and trades Deron Williams. I mean, that is terrible value. I believe NJ feels they have the pieces to swoon both Deron and Dwight to join forces there, so they wouldn't jeopardize that and let it happen in Orlando.

JJ is the only Magic player that is a real good fit for us currently, but I don't think this deal goes down without more teams getting involved.

I think it would be good for the team now that it looks that his role is redundant in this team but I thought we could get something better than JJ... Maybe a late 1st as well?

Beasley is a huge scorer that can make his own shot, I thought he would have more value than a role player like Redick

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

JJ would be good but I don't see him as a game changer or anything. A solid upgrade at the wing for us.

Going from garbage to good would be a stark contrast.

Magic fan here, though this year the wolves became my second favorite team.

I think Jason richardson would be a much better fit here, he was averaging over 19 ppg with the suns on great percentages playing next to steve nash and he thrives on the open court wheather its at the rim or a pull up three and playing next to rubio would probably be ideal for him.

On another note, why would guys give up on beasly so quick?

Some would, some wouldn't. People here are quite high on Redick though. And if you look at our team, we have enough SFs and no SGs.

Id much rather have JJ on this team than Richardson. Richardson is just too old

Yes, JJ is better because we're building for the future. J-Rich's best season is almost certainly behind him.

As for Beasley, it doesn't feel like giving up on him so soon, and I've been (and remain) a big Beasley supporter. It's more that he is clearly not essential to the success that we've had, but does have significant trade value. If we can get a good player back who fills a position of need, it makes more sense to trade him then it does to keep him.

I get what you're saying, but that contract is a little too long for my liking. Orlando really hurt themselves with that. If we could somehow get Richardson and a pick, I'd be more willing to consider.
