Tim Tebow to Jets Done Deal

Postby HMFFL on Wed Mar 21, 2012 11:57 am

Trade is on hold because of $5 that would be owed to Tebow. Now, Denver is allowing Tebow to pick between the Jags or Jets.

Breaking news: Ny Jets have just traded a 4th round pick for Tim Tebow. https://twitter.com/#!/JayGlazer/status ... 0252827649

Denver & John Elway handled this situation perfectly. At the end of last season, I thought that they were completely stuck with Tebow, but the Peyton Manning situation was a gift to them. The Bronco FO is celebrating right now.

The Jets have set themselves up for the controversy that Denver wisely unloaded. The NY media is going to tear Sanchez apart if he doesn't play well, while the millions of Tebow fans will put pressure on the Jets to start Tebow.

It's gonna be an absolute disaster, IMHO.

A comment I read on ESPN:

"The Jets acquired Tebow to help Cromartie track all of his kids."

As a Jet fan, I'm so not looking forward to next season, unless Sanchez really and miraculously picks up his game, it will be like you said an absolute disaster. It might get us some viewers and a bit more fans to cheer us on, but ultimately this will lead to no good.

If Sanchez plays bad next year...

I don't get what either the NYJ or JAC (you can't offer a 3rd?) are doing here...

I just have to chalk this up to it being a business trade. Tebow does bring in the money I have to imagine, will do wonders for off field press. I can't imagine how we will use him, goal line situations? Is he really being brought here to bring stability to the locker room? Did we really need a gadget player for the offensive system, was Kerley not good enough?

I just think the media circus alone that comes along with Tebow in the NY market, it's just a disaster waiting to happen.
Blue and orange everything, clearly what I'm repping
And the pressure that come with it like I'm wearing number seven

Build a team, Nets:
1- LeBron James. 60- 61- 120- 121- 180- 181- 240- 241- 300- 301- 360- 361-

I think this is a good place for Tim Tebow. He should have more endorsements on the table, and I expect him to take some from Sanchez, but Sanchez possibly won't be around very long if he fails to perform. Sanchez is going to have so much pressure on him from the media, team, and fans that it's a lose-lose situation for him.

They should do a Hard Knocks contrasting Tebow and some of those clowns on the Jets. It would be must-watch TV.

The inevitable Sanchez-Tebow controversy is going to be hilarious.

I'm a Pats fan. I guess we don't have to worry about the Jets for the near future.

As much as Tim Tebow is inconsistant I don't see how The Dolphins or Jaguars didn't make a play for him. He's would have been a hometown boy and would have been a marketing machine for The Jags or to a lesser degree The 'Fins.

Seems like a move out of left field for me for The Jets as I am not convinced he's better then Sanchez and that's from a Gator fan. Going to be a intresting year to say the least for me, with all the moves that happend so far

1. WTF are the Jets doing? You already have cries from the media/fans about your not-so-steady young QB who you just signed to a big contract.
2. Mentioned above.. Jax: you would'nt give up a 3rd?
3. I thought Elway said they would like to give him the opportunity to be a starter somewhere else? Dick move.
4. He'd be better off in Denver IMO. The screams for Tebow after Sanchez has a bad game will be mighty distracting. If he stays in Denver, fans understand that Peyton's a legend and unless he absolutely stinks it up for a while I think the fans will understand that Peyton is a way better option. Also, Tebow gets to hone his game behind an all-time great and could possibly be more polished when Peyton's done. Basically, for a team that said they wanted to put Tebow's interests first, a really dumb move.

Tebow in Miami would have been sick. I think it just would have built up more that the owners of Miami teams are trying to turn that into a sports town. Suprised they didn't try to top the Jets offer.

Miami just went all in with Philbin as HC and Sherman as OC. They were brought in to bring with them the West Coast Offense, and Tebow in no way has any capability to run an offense that focuses on quick decision making in the passing game. He would of been an awful fit

As for the Jets, I don't think they are a good fit either. Sanchez get so much flak, and that locker room is already fragmented. A couple bad games, and a full blown qb controversy is involved, with Tebow and his followers not letting up. He needed to go to GB or NE, where they have the most established qbs and he could come in and just run specialty plays.
