Most polished offensive game of anyone in college??

IDK man, I love Robinson and watch a lot of him, but he's still somewhat raw in the post, he really relies on athleticism and garbage buckets for a lot of his points.

He attempts a decent amount of advanced stuff, but he isn't all that successful at it yet.

And he has some bouts of trouble and frustration against NBA sized and defensively talented front courts.

None of it is where he's getting shut down and on the polish of his skill set you see all the tools starting to come together along with the rapid progression, so it doesn't make me nervous in the least and is actually one of the main reasons I like him so much, but talking right now, in the present, I think he's good but not great actual skill set wise.

Ronito wrote:Kris Humphries seems like a lazy comp to me; they are both similar in height (I've seen some say he's 6'9'' and some say he's 6'10'')', strong, work their ass off and are active. Don't see any other similarities, though. Robinson's got a post game, is athletic, can defend just about any type of 4.

I like the David West ceiling better, but he has to improve his jumper. His post game is pretty damn good and he's one of the best rebounders in college. Pretty incredible the improvement he's made between this year and last year.

I'm the last guy to accuse of making lazy comparisons since I'm pretty much the only one I've ever seen be able to make a cross racial comparisons lol

Come on now, you're on the NJ Board... you're talking about the board that saw me compare Psycho T to Haslem and JG and myself compare Xavier Henry to Dan Majerle without seeing each other do it lol.

I went overboard with that, but I say that because he could have success in the NBA right now, IMO. Uses either hand, has a hook shot, can shot it a little bit and of course, the power game. He'll get better, he's got the motor to do it. The rebounding numbers really are incredible and the work he does on both ends is too.

This is essentially his first year, and he's tearing it up as the focal point of Kansas and impresses me every time I see him. I remember when the consensus was PG3 > TR0 then after the Baylor game it was at least a discussion with some leaning towards TRob and now...is it even close? Even when his offensive game is off, he's there making a huge impact.

Edit - Went to look at his rebounding numbers per 40 minutes and he's sitting at #2 (missed #1 by .1) with 14.7 rebounds.

Edit 2 - He didn't play much last year, but his rebounding numbers per 40 minutes had him at #2 last year as well with 16.8 rebounds. #1 was Faried with 17.2 - :o

And if you read up on his backstory you'll feel even better about him not dissapointing.

I didn't mean hump to be an insult or as a ceiling. Just that he has that rugged game. Obviously he's better than that.

Hump is actually his floor considering hump has no offense but is still a 6th man.

Right, I got you now. On another note, Draftexpress has Andre Drummond going #2 to the Hornets right now.

Jon's also had Jeremy Lamb at #12 the entire season...

And yeah Antwan, his personal story is really crazy and sad.

I have little question he'll pan out to be a great player.

Barnes should also fall to at best around 8th, but some silly GM will eventually be fired because he takes Harrison somewhere in the 3 to 5 range.

It would be nearly impossible for them to get the 4th overall pick.

Chances are we wind up either 4th or 5th worst record by years end and if we don't make a top 3 jump then likely at least one if not 2 teams behind us have done so, pushing our pick back 1 or 2 spots to somewhere between pick 5 and 7.

Yay!

The Official 2011-2012 Draft Thread

Postby N Ireland Nets on Sat Mar 24, 2012 6:57 am

I'm confident looking at our schedule that outside probably 3 games, tonight, Cavs & Wizards at home, we will lose every other game.

Hopefully our tank is strong enough to let Irving & Nene run all over us.

I'm hoping the wizards catch us in 4th place. The difference between the 1st overall pick and 4-8th pick is franchise changing.

Getting the 1st overall pick really does change everything in the summer. It has the potential to make D Will stay either by realising Davis is a complete monster or trading him for a top tier star.

I'm literally praying to the basketball gods that we get Davis. Regardless of D Will or anyone, we could have our front court set for years to come in Davis and Lopez. Sometimes I think people forget that Lopez is only 23 still

I really hope we beat the Knicks on April 18th too. Doesn't matter if we're tanking, if Deron gives us one more monster performance and we pull off a win, I'll be happy.

We'd have beaten them 2/3 times in their "return to glory" season. Should have already had 2 wins against them if it wasn't for Lin.
