Monta getting grilled for D on a night where he scores the last 16 points to close out the game. Only on the Bucks board.

Not going to lie, but since he's been on the Bucks, I have never seen him get run off of so many screens. Almost every game so far he's getting screened nearly every play. Really evident this game as Parker was just able to catch and shoot uncontested jumpers all night.

So the question is, how does the team address the problem?

Trade Monta for someone else who's gonna get screened all night, or actually learn how to switch when they see the screen coming?

Not saying Monta doesn't have his flaws on D, but tonight wasn't about beating Monta one on one, it was about screening the shiz out of him all night. They did that successfully, but Parker's performance was more attributed to bad rotations and great screens...

Skiles is a fight through screens kind of coach. We really don't do a lot of switching on D. It is something Monta is going to have to get use to.

Yeah we don't switch, Monta needs to just HTFU. You aren't allowed to coast on D if your name isn't Drew Gooden.

Yeah I didnt see the continuous terrible D everyone here is talking about. I saw Monta getting screened and ball swings to Parker in the corner. There were a couple where the close out was bad but Ersan had the same issue with Jamison all night. Antawn just missed the shots. They screened the **** out of Monta.

Just think if a guy they liked did that. Sucks ever since Bogut left guys on this forum don't like ANY of our players. Pretty funny, kind of sad, but always makes for entertaining threads  .

They need to get Monta to stop running around multiple screens. I don't get why they don't have him take a shortcut on the other side of the screen to get to the shooter. Other than Ray Allen you don't see too many players back peddle when the defender takes the shortcut.

Pretty much this, if you go back and watch this happened every time Parker was open.

reminds me of the comments after the games where bogut gets 11/15/5 but bricks his last 3 hooks and 4 out of 6 fts down the stretch in a 84-82 grind it out defensive clunkfest.

Most posters on this board only appreciate talent when it is on another team or about to be drafted. We could win 4 straight right now and everyone will just point to the teams we played and nobody will appreciate it.

The guy is a 40% career three point shooter. He has trouble shooting contested shots, not open ones. If the game plan is to have Monta run through screens all night to contest shots from a good shooter, it ain't a good one. 27 points should show that... Most teams switch when the screen comes so what I'm saying isn't out of the realm of quality coaching.

Coaches have to play to their players strengths and weaknesses... Not just say "this is how I coach."

that is parker

Parker left Israel in 2002, and in January 2003 moved to Italy, where he signed with Virtus Roma, playing in 27 Italian Lega A league games and averaging 14.5 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game.[10] However, half a year later Parker longed a return to Israel, a country he had grown to love.[4] Back with Maccabi, he helped his team accomplish two more Triple Crowns by winning the Israeli domestic championship, the Israeli National Cup, and the Euroleague championship in both 2004 and 2005.[15] In the process, he was named the Israeli Super League MVP and the Euroleague Final Four MVP of the Euroleague 2003–04 season, as well as the Euroleague MVP and first team All-Euroleague in the Euroleague 2004–05 season.[10][16] The 2004–05 season also proved to be a watershed season for Parker, as he averaged career-highs of 18.0 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game and 3.6 assists per game.[17] In his final season with Maccabi, he led Maccabi to another domestic double, but in the Euroleague 2005–06 season's championship game,

Got the same problem with Mark Jackson and his belief that an NBA coach doesn't have to call very many plays in a game... lol. Paraphrasing "Sometimes the guys look to me to get the play (during the game) and I just tell them to run."

Not arguing with Skiles and what he does, just kind of pointing out Monta and the type of player to fight through multiple screens to contest a shot mostly due to physical limitations but also partly due to mental ones. However you look at it, fighting through screens will never be a strength for Monta and that's when having people like Luc, Udoh, & Delfino become important as they can all play the screen well from what I have seen...

Every team does this to our guards every night. Usually it is even worse because Gooden is even less effective showing / switching than our other bigs who are not very good at it. A lot of people on this board think Jennings can't defend because he ends up trailing on most of those plays. It would happen to almost any player with the way defend the pick and roll, especially when Gooden is the big.

Surprised I'm the only one to bring up the frontline to start the game.

LRMAM
Ersan
Udoh

was what got the Bucks their silly lead in the first 20 minutes of the game. I know the Bucks were playing against D-Leaguers but that was a really fun frontline to watch.
