OK, Ben...you have seen a lot of basketball. As a guy who grew up with 9-and-73 and a season ticket holder for a LOT of years, so have I.

So...here's the questions:

1) We have tried Jrue/Meeks...the reason why Turner finally went into the starting lineup was that Jrue/Meeks WASN'T WORKING - right? So, why is it going to work THIS time?

2) Would you say that the ABSOLUTE BEST that this team's offense has looked over the past two months was when Turner TRULY had the ball in his hands? If not, then what OTHER lineup change or substitution pattern that Collins has used has been better?

3) Do you believe that - since that five game stretch that Turner had the ball in his hands and Collins said things like "at the end of the day, Evan is a point guard" and "when Evan has the ball in his hands, he is a different player" - that there has been a CONSCIOUS, DIRECTED coaching emphasis by Collins to give the ball back to Jrue?

4) When Collins was challenged by Bob Cooney after the loss to the Knicks where it appeared that Turner did not have the ball "ion his hands" anymore and Collins referred to Turner's lack of rebounding as the key difference, did that make ANY flipping sense to you? In your years of following basketball, does it make sense that, in order for a point guard to have the ball in his hands HE MUST DEFENSIVE REBOUND THE BASKETBALL?

5) Based on the recent play of Jrue and Turner, why is it that TURNER looks like the guy who will be benched? Do you believe that Jrue has outplayed Turner and deserves to stay on the court? And if the answer is yes, can you please substantiate that answer with examples (it SURE wasn't last night, BTW)...

6) If, "at the end of the day, Evan is a point guard", and given the fact that we have had LOTS of Jrue and Meeks already, why would we not try Turner and Meeks and see if THAT works? If your answer is no, why would you say that - given that we have already tried Jrue/Meeks and that was not working, and we have yet to commit to give Turner a legit shot at PG (and if you answer "Turner HAS been given a legit shot at PG, could you remind me when that was, and what he did to lose that shot?)...

Thanks.

bebopdeluxe, sorry not to provide an answer to your question, which at least had the virtue of being thought-out and civil. (My short answer is that Collins is wrong about Turner being a point guard, and I find it ironic that guys who think Collins is wrong about everything cling to that one wrong statement as if it's Collins's lone truth.) But every time I engage in discussion here (had a very nice back-and-forth a few weeks ago) I wind up being hack-a-Shaqued by bozos whose only strategy is to toss insults. It's just not worth it. I'll stick to talking Sixer stuff with my neighbors.

Ben,

We're all a little frustrated around here -- the team has fallen off the cliff, the youth look young and unimproved and suddenly we are staring at a possible 8 seed instead of 3-4. But if you hang around, hopefully it will be worth it.

I'm going to lock this, lets make sure and keep exchanges civil here.

There are some great questions going forward, such as is Turner a pg, if so is it him or Jrue that should stay, is Turner good/ Collins bad or vice versa, or just a personality clash. Fortunately, we have a few threads for those already.
