Yeah and we fill the same way about Martin and Lee. Can't let Lee walk for free and I am sure he wants to start. Call me Crazy but I think Martin is more expendable then Lowry. If you are able to keep Dragic then I am all for trading Lowry for a high pick but no one can guarantee that this can happen. Anyways Martin should not be on this team next season.

Martin and Lee don't need the ball in thier hands to be effective.

your not crazy at all. There is no question that Martin is more expendable than Lowry. Its not like Martin is consistent offensively and its not like we rely on him in late game situations. Basically he's just part of the offense and he gets his opportunities just like everybody else. He's not a go to guy and offers absolutely nothing else other than his contributions offensively. I definitely prefer Lee starting over Martin. IMO, what Lee bring defensively and his energy on the defensive end, deflecting passes and causing turnovers and more valuable than what Martin can bring offensively.

YES I KNEW I WAS NOT CRAZY!

Well Lars I was not talking about shots. I was talking about wasting money on Martin and paying Lee and also playing time. Martin does not fit this team anymore and he would be better off elsewhere. Martin does not suck but he sucks for this team that has made its move to become stronger and focus more so on defense. If Martins shot does not fall then Martin is useless. Rockets most of the time leave him on the bench in late game situations and use Lowry/Dragic/Lee or Parson.

I believe you are over-simplfying the game, but thats just me. There are complex defensive schemes that are in place that open certain spots for certain players.

Not sure how you have come to the conclusion that he no longer fits and sucks for the team:

" he did put up 25.2 ppg 4 rbs, 2.5 assists and 1.4 stls in the last 10 games before he got injured. Last year he put up 23.4 all season." (stolen from another poster)

If you don't like his play style thats fine, but don't feed me this "he doesn't fit" nonsense. Thats just seeing what you want to see.

Rox guy hates Martin(or that is what it seems like) I myself like Martin but like I said he does the team to me. Not sure about the stat line average you gave but the last two months he played he averaged 14 points.

So I guess the complex scheme is for him to not get threw a screen or get beaten off the dribble.

Ya I was just messin with u Lars, but I don't want to lose Lowry at all.

I REALLY want dragic back, but it is no guarantee we get him even if we trade Lowry. He has no allegiance to us. What if we trade Lowry and dragic still just wants to play in another city and doesn't care about money?

Roll with boykins starting? Or hope lull turns out to be capable?....you may be right and it may be a great move, but I'm not ballsy enough to get behind that...especially because Lowry is my favorite now that chucks gone

"Rox guy hates Martin." "like I said he does the team to me"

I have no idea what that means.

He was injured 3/6 at Boston, played hurt his final 4 before he went out. Those arent my numbers, as I said, but looks atleast close to that.

 Sorry missed a lot of words there. That Rox guy who hates Martin, by that Rocketsballin person seemingly hates Martin. I was saying that I am still a fan of Martin myself but he does not fit the team. Sorry completely **** that up.

Anyways Rockets are playing a lot better defense and the offense remains the same. Still stalls but their strong defense has allowed them to stay in the game. Don't think we could say that if Martin was healthy and Lee was hurt. Martin is expendable

Sorry to inform you so publicly Lars, but you have been traded and banned from this Rockets board on multiple counts of Kevin Martin favoritism and/or homerism.
Please turn in your realgm account and password...

But seriously Lars I don't get how you miss martin's I effectiveness throughout the season so much so that McHale has benched him multiple times. The offense sticks so much more when he is out there, and he is absolutely dread in late game situations... Like that game iirc where he literally had like 4 brain lapses in the fourth, missed wide open layup.

Yet you want to trade Lowry for Chuck and a 1st(a crap shoot)?
Let's be honest Lowry is far and away our best player, if we traded him I want a damn superstar or close to it... Not Drummonds I mean did he even declared!?!

Lowry has excelled in every role he has played off the bench starter off ball... Dragic is so inconsistent as a sub id be worried to hand the team over to him, especially when we have Kyle MFin Lowry!

You are confusing objectivity with favortism. Martin's defensive woes have been greatly exagerated, and his contributions greatly diminished.

I will not participate in a lynch mob to run a player out of town. The same **** happens every year. The fan base has to pick a player to run out of town. Happens every year.

Not sure who we ran out last year, but it looks like the team made an improvement over last year.
Unless you mean McGrady? I was a huge McGrday fan, HUGE! But I was all for him getting traded.

When its time to go it time to go, Martin's time was a while ago, its time to flip him for something.

Hell maybe we can get Turner now, and if Dragic leaves he would be the perfect replacement. He could actually start alongside Lowry & one of Parsons or Lee.

In the beginning of the season i would have agreed with you but not so much anymore. I was ready for Patrick Patterson to be the starting 4 because of his defense and he is capable on offense as well. But Scola has really come on as the season progressed. We all know he has a reliable jumper and is capable in the post. I have also seen some good defense from Scola late in the season. Seriously, good defense.

I think a lot will depend on how we perform in the playoffs, how individuals perform in the playoffs. Then we'll get into the whole free agency thing and the draft. I think the expendable player in houston is Kevin Martin.

Could not have said it any better myself.

Like I said Martin is expendable. Lee has to be the starter for the rest of this season and into the playoffs. Martin will be a free agent next season and I doubt they will pay Martin while they have Lee. So you should get something for Martin while you can. $12 mil expiring next year and it is not like his career is done.
