Bobcats or Pistons -Who has the brighter future

Post#1 » by ComboGuardCity » Fri Apr 13, 2012 4:46 am

Battle of present irrelevants at the moment between fans.Let's have the general board settle it. Who has the brighter future between these 2 teams?

Bobcats have Kemba, Biyombo, 25% of Anthony Davis
Pistons have Stuckey, Monroe, Knight, lotto pick.

depends on who they draft and draft order.

Right now?

I guess you'd go with the pistons because Monroe is that good.

but that can all change on the draft lottery.

Bobcats have no star or potentially good player. Yes, I said player, hence not players.

You forgot cap situations. E.g. CV and BG and Prince all signed for at least 2 more years after this + Maxiell expiring (or is he a team option?) vs. Thomas signed for 4 years and Magette, Diop, Carroll, Williams, Mullens all becoming expirings (something like 25 million dollars?)

Right now I'd not want to be in either's situations. If I was forced to pick I'd take the Bobcats, but it will probably change tomorrow, it just depends on how high I am on Biyombo at the time... Neither team is going to be a contender any time soon.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Pistons.

If the Bobcats get Anthony Davis, then we can revisit this and see whats going on.. as a Kings fan i'd tell those Bobcats fans not commit suicide if they end up choosing 4th.

Don't see how you can include stuckey and not include Gerald Henderson and Byron Mullens, to be more accurate its like this

Bobcats have Kemba, Biyombo, 25% of Anthony Davis, Gerald Henderson, Byron Mullens
Pistons have Stuckey, Monroe, Knight, lotto pick.

Contra Assets - When expires
Bobcats: Gana Diop('13), Matt Caroll('13), Tyrus Thomas('15)
Pistons: Villenuava('14), Gordon('14), Tayshawn Prince('15)

Cap at the start of '13 season
Charlotte - 22,183,014+(draft picks, and misc FA signings)
Detroit - 45,950,158+(draft picks, and misc FA signings)

Draft picks alotted not including their own
Bobcats + '13 Portland

Average team age
Bobcats 25.64
Pistons 27.43

Teams Active General Manager
Bobcats - Rich Cho
Pistons - Joe Dumars

So Biyombo and Kemba aren't potentially good? the disrespect for the brand "bobcats" will skew any poll when comparing futures, they seriously need a rebrand

Cap space doesn't matter too much if nobody is willing to sign there.

Well, first off, the Pistons have better starters at pretty much every position.
