Pacers clinch a playoff spot

5th team to do so. Bulls, Heat, Thunder and Spurs are the other four.

In doing so, they matched their win total from last season. They were 37-45 last season. This season they 37-22 with 7 games to go.

Congratulations to the Indiana Pacers on an amazing season. Hope they do well in the playoffs. They have an exciting team with West/Granger/Hibbert/Amundon/Barbosa and etc. ;)

If they can sign Eric Gordon and move Granger for a good starting PG, this team could be really, really good.

The Pacers made the playoffs 17 years in a row, and the fall from glory was hard. It's a passionate fan base that was totally alienated but is slowly coming back. In the last few weeks there have been several sellouts and TV ratings have been at decade highs this season. It's not a huge market and never is going to bring out as many people as the United Center/Madison Square Garden do, but it is a fan base that cares a lot more about its team than most other cities. I also think the fact that the Pacers were a middling franchise for the past six years made people a little more skeptical about the early success this season. Every team for the last six years gave a certain amount of hope, but lead to disappointment and Pacers fans didn't want to invest in that again. You'll see a rowdy Bankers Life Fieldhouse for the playoffs and attendance numbers closer to 16,000 as an average next year.

The Pacers physical play is going to do a lot for them in the playoffs, and the Barbosa addition has been bigger than anyone could have expected. His spark, energy and scoring off the bench have been key to the Pacers putting up the best record in the league in April. This is a second round team at worst, and really is going to give Miami trouble in the second round.

There are a lot of Pacers fans who feel that way but Gordon's injury problems worry me and Granger has been one of the most clutch players this season with the game on the line. Also, in the past 15 games he's averaging 21.5pts, 5.3rebs and 1.6asts on 48.9%fg and 49.3%3pt. He's also making 93.5% of his free throws in that span. He's been awesome lately.

Yeah, it's odd. I'm not in Indiana so I couldn't tell ya what the problem is. I know I'd be there if I could!

Hey, we love our ex-Suns

I'm so glad that Kyrylo Fesenko played tonight. This whole season has been great. Let's hope for a good playoff run :D

Not so, we've been a consistent sellout in the Past.

two words. The Brawl.

Things are improving though, we've had a few sellouts recently and games against non-marquee teams have been filling better, plus the PAcers finally started a new AD campaign.

Word is getting out locally that the team has really changed and is worth seeing, i'd reevaluate next year after the playoffs, things should be better. Indianapolis has always been a bandwagon town, and finally we're better than the Colts are, a year or two and Pacers will be the talk of the town again, as annoying as bandwagoners are...

I don't think that the thing you wanna do after having a winning record for the first time in 7 years is trade your best player and attempt to sign a guy who played like 50 games over the last 2 years

I think the Pacers (assuming they get out of the first round) will be at least in the upper-half of that list next year.

OT: Pistons have really plummeted these last few years! :o
