Royce White is pretty high on my list..Especially if we stay put in the 14-18 range.

yea...after 14 the list really starts to change.

White looks like he could be a solid player...kinda undersized tho, and im not sure if he could be a PF in the NBA...reminds me of James Johnson.

We need size, shot blocking and a scorer/shooter.

What about Meyers Leonard?

He seems a talented big that could be available. He's about the same size as Vucevic (and as white) but he seems more of a bruiser, athletic inside player (he can use some extra wheigt, like every rookie). Voosh is more a polished player.

But don't know much about him.

i watched him a ton as a purdue fan...

leonards jump from his freshman year to this past year was HUGE... he is VERY athletic and mobile for his size with what looks like really good length..

but, hes not a bruiser, plays somewhat soft, and is prone to taking bad shots... but, hes young..

he definately is intriguing, but i dont know how great his upside is... will be interesting to see what his wing span comes back as.. if we arent in the lottery, which appears likely, he might be a solid pick around 16 or 17

Okay now that it's obvious that we will make the playoffs(barring some epic tanking), lets start trying to pinpoint the guy we want (not that it has helped us at all...lol). We picked Thad, Jrue, Turner.....and Spieghts. Lets see if we can do it again....

Probably not. This team is going into an offseason in which a bunch of stuff could go down but to waste some time lets see what we got.

We need a bunch of things; a scorer, a big man, another swing(after Iggy, Turner or Jrue is moved), Lou replacement...and a goddamn star. Sadly at 15-17 that seems to be unlikely to get the star(or scorer..lol) bt who knows maybe all the other GM's go stupid..lets see what we got.

Guards(not all of them just some targets):

Brad Beal
Pros: Nice Shooter, Can play off the ball, Eric Gordan without the injury concerns?
Cons: Gotta move up crazy to get him, undersized, Didn't shoot great at Florida.

Jeremy Lamb:
Pros: Nice size, good jumper, can play off and with the ball(wat..is this? not possible??), crazy upside...could slide a bit further than he should
Cons: once again gotta move up to get him, Lazy? dumb? Nick Young-ish?

Austin Rivers
Pros: SWAG!!!, Wants to be great, Son of an NBA Player, Duke.
Cons: Duke,JACKSWAG, Small, not crazy athletic, poor defender, ball hungry?(no homo)

Terrence Ross
Pros: Good shooter, can play off the ball, gettable, will fit in at the 2 or 3.
Cons: Was the best player on a meh team, Carney 2.0?, Nick Young 2.0? Not the sexy upside pick.

Tony Wroten
Pros: Fits our mold of (high school god, meh college career, will fall to us), Crazy upside, Gettable(for now)
Cons: Ball dominant, can't shoot for ****, Similar to Jrue and Turner both, Our mold hasn't gotten us the star we need yet. Could shoot up the boards.

Others: Kendall Marshall(don't really need a point guard but kobblehead loves him), Dion Waiters(Local kid could at the very least replace Lou)

Swing Forwards(MKG is not gettable...sadly)

Harrison Barnes
Pros: I STILL BELIVEZ, Fits well with Turner and Jrue, Might have something to prove, Roy Williams is a moron.
Cons: Dude kinda was a bust in college...wat, can't create for himself and with jrue' lacking and Turner's overrated facilitating abilities that could be bad, gotta move up for him and he may not be worth it...

Terrence Jones
Pros: Plays angry, athletic, bigger than he looks(no homo), overshadowed by his teammates
Cons: and yet he takes games off(wtf happened against Indiana?), tweener, Thad like, doesn't really solve any of our needs.

Royce White
Pros: Can do a bunch of stuff, big kid, has a lot to prove, could replace Iggy quite nicely.
Cons: Anexity Disorder, we have enough can do a bunch of stuff guys, tweener.

Others: Tony Mitchell(Unknown yet very talented guy), Jeffery Taylor( Can shoot and defend would be a nice target if he fell into the second round).Moe Harkless(potential to be really good but not a great fit here)

Bigs

Jared Sullinger
Pros: Been a winner on every level so far, can score in the post, Dat ass(no hom....well)
Cons: Kinda undersized, gets destroyed by bigger dudes (no homo...damn), Ohio St has a **** track record lately...lol(jk), gotta move up some for a guy who may not be good as Current Brand.

Tyler Zeller
Pros: He's big and skilled, shotblocker....uh he;s a center.
Cons: SOFT.

Meyers Leonard
Pro: See Zeller except he can still get better and he's a better athlete.
Cons: See Zeller....no racist.

Perry Jones III
Pro: POTENTIAL OUT DA YINYANG, can be the scorer we need, wants to prove he's not a bust, Baylor's system is ass.
Cons: Bust in college, lazy, PROJECT, gotta move up to get him, tweener(??)

Others: John Henson (toothpick but can block shots), Arnett Moultrie(who?), Fab Melo( I think he;s a bum but he;s big and stuff).

This draft is pretty deep o i probably missed a bunch of people...I've never been good at "scouting" bigmen so my word is off of very superficial stuff so yeah grain of salt there.

I think we need to reach for the moon in this draft but I also think we need to move guys like Iggy or Turner on draft night..so we can have a set direction to go in.

Of course i expect us to stay at 15-17 take some dude and call it a night.

15- 17 is such a boring range... had we just missed the playoffs smh....

at this point we should draft the BAP regardless of how he fits and trade from there

im sorry but what? what supports that statement. Roy williams is a great coach.

and kobble is not the only one that supports kendall marshall. i would love to have him coming off our bench to replace lou...(id rather have a true pg coming off our bench than lou..just me tho)...although I would prefer a big such as Sullinger, Henson, Zeller or if possible Lamb if he were to drop...I would hope to get a starter out of this draft if we can...

do you watch these games...tyler zeller is not soft...haha...not at all...he runs the floor like a guard hes just not a huge center hes much more of a mobile center...He hit the boards like a beast and was never afraid to bang...he just has to continue to put on weight as hes been doing and will do as he ages...

While my comment was meant as a joke, Roy is a pretty overrated coach.

Or rather he's crazy stubborn and his system hasn't really produced great pros and yet it never seems like he gets the most out of his guys. I mean he was starting Turnover Jesus for a long damn time.

Now I'm no UNC fans but one of my friends is a diehard, so I'm just going from what he said.

Don't take the moron comment too seriously.

And Zeller is soft as ****.

Skilled, nice size and movement but soft...it's cool because he hasn't had to be a banger for most of his life and like Henson is kinda skinny. (The UNC gym must be like Spongebob's /jk)

and like I said I'm no expert on big men so I could be crazy wrong there

We won't be able to get White if we stay put. I know people say he's a tweener and might not be able to play PF, but someone with that size, that handle, and that athleticism is too enticing to let it pass by. He averaged 13, 9, and 5... He's a freak and would be a blessing to have on this team. Move Brand and insert White, we would be in a good position.

Anybody see Tony Mitchell (North Texas) play?

Dude might be a sleeper worth keeping an eye on. Paul George-esque perhaps.

Obviously I didn't catch many North Texas games so I'm just going off of scouting reports and stuff (LAWL).

Could he be in play if/when we stay put?

Been scouting him a lot recently. Something will probably be up at Draft Express soon. Don't look at the numbers, as he hasn't been going up against legit competition, and his offensive feel for the game and overall skill level aren't as good as the numbers would suggest, although he does have some decent potential as a passer. But he's made some strides in his consistency in his jumper and his ball handling, and if he can show his jumper is a consistent weapon it makes it much easier to place him into an offensive role. His future is definitely as a face-up 4 and not a back to the basket big, though.

As a potential shot blocker and (particularly) rebounder, if his jump shot proves reliable, he'd be a steal later in the draft. If he had gone to Missouri as planned and played 2 or 3 years there, I could see him developing into an Udoh type of player, although right now his defensive rotations aren't as good as Udoh.

Derek - any thoughts on Terrence Ross or Royce White?

I like White a lot as a potential combo forward here (once Brand is gone). Completely different player than Thad so I think they can co-exist. Obviously he has some red flags, but I think you take the gamble with a mid-1st rd pick.

I have been checking out a lot on Ross recently and he's starting to really intrigue me as a potential SG here. He seems to excel in areas we lack at the 2 spot (spot up deep shooting, athleticism, good D). If we plan to let Lou walk, I think Ross could be a real nice pick in the 15-20 range.
