It's like saying KD is a more offensive thread when Melo has a much better offensive game.

What is Bosh doing besides sitting on the perimeter waiting for a double teamed Wade, Lebron to hit him when he is wide open? He occasionally drives to the basket, but defers to take outside shots. If his outside shot isn't going in, he is pretty much useless.

If Stat's shot isn't going in, he is more worthless.

Thank you & I thought this season would clearly make that evident.

Prior to this year, Stat was the clear better player.... But with his injuries and general poor play, not as definitive anymore....

Stat has always had more moves, more athletics and been generally the more offensively talented player.. But Bosh has been consistent..

When Stat is at his best, he's still better than Bosh... I'd still pick Amare to get better numbers in the playoffs if we met the Heat... But Stat has come down a little bit

If his J isn't going in, he drives to the basket. This year, injuries have held his performance back extremely. If we are looking at a healthy Stat, he is more of an offensive threat. Hence 9 straight 30+ games in a row.

The thread is is Bosh better than Amar'e? Right now... the thread was made today... today... yes he is.

Slipping the screen without a PG with great vision does nothing... Give me Chandler actually setting a screen over Amar'e pretending to set a screen...

None of it matters to me anyway... Bosh plays harder and plays smarter and doesn't have a chronic back injury therefore Bosh>Amar'e.

I tend to take a player's body of work over season-to-season comparisons. Amare has always been the better player, and it will take more than a condensed season which Amare started out of shape to convince me a player who gets zero defensive attention is clearly better.

Especially when only one shows up in the playoffs over the course of his career.

But Stat isn't healthy, and may never be 100% healthy again.

If Greg Oden was healthy, he would be a dominant center... if Brandon Roy was healthy... if Stephen Curry was healthy... If Baron Davis was healthy... I could do this forever.

Or if that fails we could continue to bring up his MVP caliber season he had last year in 2013

Guys let's just stop this already....Bosh is better than Stat, he's a better offensive player than Stat & he's a better defensive player than Stat.

End game :dontknow:

That's cool.. that's not the way I rate players... I like to look at who is playing good in the moment. It's a little more fluid to me... not specific to one game.. but more of a month to month basis. There was no way when Melo was struggling I would try to make a case for him being a top 10 player... but after the last 20 or so games he's worked his way back up there. I want to see Stat play well for a stretch... I want to see him stay healthy and more importantly I want to see him improve his game the way Melo did... Melo competed more on the defensive end and he's gotten better at facilitating and being an on the floor leader... all this has happened gradually over the course of the year.

And Bosh got 18 and 8 in last years playoffs while Stat got injured acting a fool on the layup line.

Look personally I think if Miami realizes what they have in Bosh it can take them to the next level. And Bosh last year once the media detached him from the other two for whatever reason proved to me he was the more mature person than the other two guys... While the other two guys were busy making fun of Dirk Bosh was going about his business like a man and I gained more respect for him.

Fair enough. It's the opposite to me. For example, I have always said that I take Melo over Durant, no questions asked. Now when Melo was shooting the 30's, did that change? No. Just because his shot isn't falling for a stretch does it mean he's lost his skills. I would have just said that Melo is a top 10 player who is playing like sh*t at the moment

Guys. It's a wash. Their stats say so and both players specialize in different things. Maybe I take Stat because he tends to elevate his game in the playoffs and has more of a mental impact in HOW he gets his points... but TBH, Bosh had the best series against Dallas last year of any of the big 3, imo. He is a very solid player.

We are going to be relying heavily on our role players to be better than Miami's role players, to have a team defense that disrupts James' and Wade's playmaking skills, and for Amare and Melo to play out of their **** minds and get in the Heat's head.

I hear you... but the injuries scare me with Stat. Especially the back injury... looks good now. If he stays healthy and puts forth effort and comprehends what he needs to do on just simple P&R plays the story might change.

The way I rank players is sort of like power rankings... when Paul got hurt two years ago and Deron was playing his best basketball for me Deron was the best PG in the league... then dude becomes a malcontent (supposedly)... hurts his wrists and Paul has a great series against LA and I bumped Paul back up there.

You know what I do if I'm woody since Chandler couldn't guard Bosh in the Lin game is I put Melo on Bosh since Bosh likes to play on the periphery and Chandler can then help off of Anthony and double.
