EDIT: According to UZR he has lost us 3 runs already in only 96 innings. He is pushing worst in the league status.

Cooper could easily wOBA more than Lind. Lind hasn't even been that great defensively according to UZR/150. -4.1 UZR/150 before tonight.

2 years and 17 games. But yeah, there's no real excuse for him still being the starting 1B. He should at least be platooned. And no, AAAA guys like David Cooper are not the answer either.

Cooper had more extra base hits than hits in his short stint with us. Walked at a much higher rate too.

I never really followed the series threads last year... Was it as reactionary on a game by game basis as this?

There's always some of this. We have to have a whipping boy to beat on or we have to be just crazy homers. It's a 162 game season.

3 years of Lind = .310 wOBA
81 PA of a 24 year old = .295 wOBA

I think the currently 25 year old should be given a shot. Hes not much "worse" than Lind.

Yes, he did all of that with an impressive .211/.284/.394 line, not that it really matters. Even if he did well over those 30 games, it still would be a bad idea to hand a starting MLB job to David Cooper.

AAAA guy is a guy who can't stick in the majors but tears up the minors. Calling a 25 year old batting champion with fewer than 100 MLB PA a AAAA player.

But I get it, some people really like Lind and his whopping .310 wOBA.

The best you could hope for Cooper is that he turns into the white James Loney.

No, thank you.

I thought you two agreed to disagree in another thread. You clearly aren't going to come to a resolution.

Best thing we can hope for with Lind is the bottom 3 in the league.

No, thanks.

Yeah, that's me...Lind's biggest fan.

It couldn't just be that Cooper is no answer to anything but a trivia question.

This is a good point. I just think we need to change it up. If we had Fielder I'd be down for releasing Cooper but he's playing behind Lind.

I'm not going to change any minds and nobodies changing mine, so we will have to again agree to disagree.

While I think Cooper should've been given a fair shake when he had come up, with at least 200 PAs to see what if there was anything there (and had a decent sample size to build towards a conclusion), I don't really think he'll amount to much and he's not the future at 1B, given the type of player he is...

Lind really has no fans here but most people are interested in replacing him for the sake of winning more games and actually improving. At this point I probably speak for many when I say its not the right time to move lind for the sake of giving Cooper a shot. This is the AL East, surely no one can believe Cooper is the answer to anything.

Time for management and ownership to man the **** up and do something, something that will actually make an impact. Scrub for scrubber is not the answer.

If we're gonna replace Lind with Cooper, then what's the point? They need an actual 1B who can hit.
