I don't think he's faking an injury that is silly to me. I already thought there was a very good chance he would be gone after this year and Avery shocking the heck out of me and probably the organization makes that feeling much stronger. He's not going to end his career on the bench when he can't be a starter somewere else. That's just my take.

Yeah, Jammer, you got it wrong. Remember that Allen getting hurt was how Avery got the job and ran with it. Ray has been nothing but class his entire career.

I have to wonder at this stage of his career and considering where he is with the Celts right now whether Ray will play if he's hurt? I don't concider Ray to be a malingerer on the order of JO but Ray definitely is cautious about injuries than say Pierce or Rondo. So if we're down 3-2 against the Hawks and fcing elimination does Ray suit up? There was a time when I would have said "of course". Now, I 'm not so sure.

I hope Ray will be okay. He may just need to rest it and hopefully it holds up.

Hope Ray is OK. Celtics have no chance at all getting past the 2nd round without a healthly Ray Allen scoring off the bench. They can win the 1st round without Ray but not the 2nd round. Keeping my fingers crossed.

He's done, it looks like Pav and MP will get the minutes instead.

Yeah I tend to agree with everything you said. We'll definitely need him. Regardless, I'm sure AB is up for the challenge.

Well, you have to admit that Paul and Rajon are borderline lunatics when it comes to playing through pain and injuries. With those two a coach has to stop them from really hurting themselves.

I don't believe for a second that Ray is faking. Also it is sure to assume that xrays were taken to confirm this? Celtics do need him. I know Bradley has been playing well and even though he played well last night Pavlovic still sucks.

Forgot to add that spurs in the foot, usually get better with time off but wind up coming back after being active. A lot of the time it requires surgery. From my experience, the best case scenario (if it's really that bad) is Ray playing 3 games out of each series. Bone spurs are no joke and they hurt so badly that you can't walk at times. Feels like a bunch of little knives stabbing into your foot. If he can't run on offense or just up and down the court, he's useless.

EDIT: After all the worries about Ray from Doc, news drops a couple hours ago that Ray will probably be ready for the playoffs.

Was that latest announcement made just to throw us off the trail? Every year someone gets hurt and they lie to our faces.

Then again tickets will be sold whether Ray plays or not.

Ray must not have been happy coming off the bench behind Avery Bradley in a contract year.

Ray started 42 out of 46 games this season.

Ray's "injury" occurred immediately after the 4 games Ray came off the bench
(or, removed from the starting lineup).

Ray has missed the last 7 games,
and it looks like Ray may shut it down rather than continue his bench "job."

Although I support Ray's coming off the bench,
and Avery Bradley starting alongside Rajon,

Since the start of the season
I was expecting Ray to concoct some nebulous injury

if the Celtics tried to have him come off the bench.

Spurs the size of "grain of sand." That's nebulous enough.

Embarrassing.

I think you play the first quarter of each game without him, run Rondo/Bradley most of the quarter and give Sasha/Pietrus/Moore a couple of minutes just so you dont tire them out early

If we get comfortable in a game, can keep a consistent lead etc I wouldnt run him if it is somehting that can flare up after activity... save him for the games where shots arent falling or the other guys at the 2 just arent getting the job done

risk of him coming out rusty, but I guess thats a risk at this point anyway
Michael Gilchrist is comin to change the game, on record right now sayin this guy will be an all time great 07/08/09
