KG for me because his post play was huge for the Celtics. KG is a monster! Rondo came up huge for the Celtics in the 4th and Marquis and Dooling played great tonight. Great job by all!

Easily Headband Rondo, dude was Based. I hope the dude keeps the headband on for the rest of the playoffs.

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

It was tough between Rondo and Garnett. Both are giving Miami a lot of problems. To me, it was a tie. Since Rondo had such a great performance in game 2 in a disappointing loss, I just went with him.

I went with Rondo. One of those games where he played a LOT better than his statline, which was still good. KG must of gotten 3/4 of his shots right at the basket b/c on Rondo's entry passing. Bass too. Was putting Miami in mismatches all not and attacked a couple times when we needed a basket. He is player like a star right now.

Rondo. Attacked when needed (especially in the clutch), called a great game, had a superhuman steal that was one of the biggest plays of the game.

Daniels deserves a spot on the ballot, IMO (not a huge deal, just saying it for posterity).

GREAT GAME!

Also: The way LBJ picked up Rondo after their 3rd quarter collision tells me he respects Rondo (same for the way he talked about him after G2) - good for us.

Rondo was a phenomenon.

He took it to them and the boys had his back one of my favorite games ever.

KG, because his +/- was 22 points better than Rondo's (+27 vs. +5).

We didn't stop the Heat's drives without Garnett. In the first quarter, they scored really well even without the half-court drives working, but fortunately that cooled off most of the rest of the way.

I went with KG barely over Rondo because he was living in the paint tonight. I might be crazy for saying this but I thought that Rondo had a better game tonight than he did game 2 and I also believe, as I said in the game thread, that Rondo has now officially taken that next step. Pierce played well but he was clearly our third best player tonight.

It's time for Bass to come alive in game 4.

i voted rondo, seemed liek the game was in his control the whole night

i will say this though KG is putting up 20-10 games so often now it looks like he could play 3 more years lol

Overall, two guys were great (Garnett, Rondo), and four others were very admirable (Pierce, Allen, Daniels, Dooling). But Garnett over Rondo for the VC, objectively, by a wide enough margin not to give it to Rondo or Daniels on a sympathy vote.

Rondo played pretty much a close to perfect game again, very good performance from him.

KG was also damn good and Pierce, even though he didn't shoot well, was aggressive and getting good shots.

Ray and the rest of our role players also stepped up---- huge props to Dooling and Daniels.

There is no debate IMO.

The Heat shot 38% with KG on the floor, 85% with KG on the bench....yes you read that right, 85%.

My one "Ha-ha, some other posters were being pretty stupid" sentiment is about the ones who have been arguing that KG will retire after this season, or should be sent away from the Celtics, or similar nonsense.

When the Celtics play "Celtic ball", it's not about the offense. We need the offense to be good enough, no doubt, but the KEY is the defense. Garnett gets the VC not just because he played down low on offense, but (much) more importantly because he locked the defense. His +27 on the night (while the other starters averaged about +4) wasn't a fluke...it was because when he was on the court the defense throttled the Heat, while when he went to the bench the Heat scored at will.

This one goes to KG.

I love this team.....beer runs a close second.

It was a toss up between KG and Rondo for me...I went Rondo because he seemed in control but really, both should light the stogie........

Plus we outrebounded them 44-32. His 11 rebounds was part of that. Also, props to Quis, Dooling, and even Pietrus, combining for 13 rebounds and Ray grabbing 5...

Loved Rondo's game tonight for the most part, but I didn't think he was consistently good enough to warrant overlooking KG's impact.
