Chad Ochocinco to work out for Miami Dolphins

Chad Ochocinco has been lobbying to become a Miami Dolphin for years. Now that he's a free agent, the South Florida native just might get his chance.

According to CBSSports.com, Ochocinco, who was released by the New England Patriots late last week, has a workout scheduled with the Dolphins that will take place sometime this week.

The Dolphins are one of a handful of teams that have expressed interest in the 34-year-old receiver, who is training in Miami. Whether a workout has been scheduled can't be independently confirmed.

In the last thread I said we were due for regression because we had a neutral run differential but we were way over .500 so it meant we had gotten lucky.

Then we got swept twice. I always say run differential is more telling than record.

Ochocinco, Dolphins could be close to deal

Chad Ochocinco is one step closer to having his childhood dream of playing for the Miami Dolphins fulfilled.

The South Florida native, and unemployed NFL receiver, worked out for the Dolphins before Monday's OTA sessions, and it appears the Dolphins are leaning towards making an offer to the six-time Pro Bowler.

"We're going to do our homework and investigate," Dolphins coach Joe Philbin said. "We're just doing our due diligence and investigating things. We had him in for workout and we'll see how things go."

Ochocinco, who was waived by the New England Patriots last week, must also pass a medical exam before a contract offer is made.

Love this move. Chad isn't a DIVA like most. He talks alot in the media but all his teammates love him. He didn't work in NE but after last season, I could see him free and ready to give a few great more years! LOVE THIS MOVE! Radio hosts and Twitter are laughing at the move, but come on. It's a choice between OchoCinco and Hartline as primary receiver. That's an easy choice.

Now I really wish we didn't dump Brandon, because we could finally have a good #2 receiver, and move Hartline to the slot, where he'd rip it up. Hartline is another Welker. The guy gets open despite his average athleticism, and he has pretty good hands. PEACE.

I actually like the move, it seams that some of these radio hosts just want the Dolphins to spend money, make a splash, sign high priced FA's. We're not there yet. He cannot hurt us at all, just a 1 year deal. Right now we need to reestablish our fan base, get some wins.
