This blows. Just got 2 copyright strikes on my account. All of the games they removed were games on NBC it seems. They not going to let me upload any more games and they may remove my account.

I don't get it though because I'm not making money of the videos and the NBA doesn't even make the games available for people to even buy them. So what if I have 1991 game 2 of the Bulls vs Knicks. Not like you can buy it from the NBA or something because they don't even sell the games.

Youtube blows. I got all of my videos removed on my one account in a matter of 2 days. I can't believe this ****.
I have another account still, but I don't believe it is worth the trouble to load up all of those games only to have them taken down. I can understand if I was making money off of the games or something, but the NBA doesn't even sell the games in the store, so why the hell should it be copyright if the common fan can't even buy the games anywhere?

Completely agree that it is stupid and shortsighted of leagues to prevent fans from seeing old games when they don't even sell them themselves. It be one thing if the NBA had some library in which I could buy these games for them to take it down but that isn't the case. Furthermore, one way fans become hardcore is by watching old games, when you prevent that from happening you're making a long-term financial mistake IMO.

The worse is baseball. I'm not sure if you're a fan of the sport but you can't even make tribute videos to players without MLB taking them down. It is like the league actively wants to alienate all fans under 40.

Yeah I tried loading up Yankees vs Red Sox Game 7 in 2003 one time and it was blocked immediately.

Free advertising of their product at no loss of revenue. It's likely costing them a ton to even chase this stuff, they probably have some legal group doing it just so they can invoice the NBA for doing some "work" for them.

Oh, I'm not talking about megaupload, that's a whole separate beast/

Someone on youtube had uploaded games 1-5 of the Orlando Magic vs Atlanta Hawks series in 1996 on youtube on the 26th of April. I downloaded them all and 2 days later his account was gone. They are really hammering down on this stuff.

what the NBA or youtube doing is really pathetic and pointless...

the NBA needs to understand is the power of viral marketing... why take down classic games that they don't even sell? I would gladly buy these classic games, if they are availible at all..

a case needs to be made, I don't know, maybe we should send a petition to the NBA, saying, either you make these games availible through some "Classic league pass" or you let us upload the games and share it so everybody can study the history of the game..

Could you find any Indiana Pacers games from 2001-2006. I'm a huge Jermaine Oneal fan, so i'd like to watch some of his old games.
