Chandler is a good player but won't be a starter in Denver.
Agreed he can and likely will put up 14 & 5 with decent defense.
Toronto's problem is that they don't want to burn cap space on him alone by trading 14th.
They have 1 primary need a SF
Denver needs a back-up PG so add Bayless & 14th & 37th for Chandler & 20th.
True, but those options actually have to be beneficial to the Nuggets. I would not include #20 in those discussions. That said I don't especially mind the Bayless, 14, 37 for Chandler, 20. Both GSW's and TOR's 2nds would belong to us and combined with our own + cash would probably return a pick after 25. I think it would be more realistic for Denver to keep our own 1st, then find a later 1st (with the value of #37,#38,#50+cash combined) and convey that pick to Toronto. In that situation Denver would take #16 instead of #14. Overall, something simple like Calderon+#16 for Chandler is the most realistic option.
Toronto would do that in a flash.
Denver does pick up his salary but he is expiring and would be a good back-up to Ty.
It gives Toronto more cap room to go after Dragic, Lin or Nash.
Hmm, I forgot about his salary I thought he was around 7m, but it looks more like 9.7 and I think he has a trade kicker too. I'd want #14 and the 2nd +Calderon. Giving Toronto Chandler, [room for] Nash, and #16 to play with. It gives Denver a passable backup PG (Not as good as dre, though he can shoot) as well as #14, #20, #37, #38, #50 to play with.
At #14 I would be happy with Moultrie and Marshall in particular. At#20 I like Nicholson, Harkless, P.Jones or T.Jones if they slip. So. Many. Options!!!
Gallo/ Brewer/ Harkless#20
Calderon+14+38 for Chandler. Bam, perfect deal
