Meer was like the 20th pick in the 1st round.

we didn't pick him though....we should draft a PG imo

Technically we did. Orlando wanted jameer prior to that years draft. Essentially Denver picked him for us in exchange for a 2005 1st rd pick. Denver was stacked at pg so it was pretty well known that Orlando and Denver had a deal in place.

Bench press: Marquette's Jae Crowder tested as the strongest athlete in the camp. He bench pressed a 185 pound bar 20 times. Meyers Leonard and JaMychal Green were next with 19 reps. Three players -- Will Barton, Tony Wroten Jr. and Tyshawn Taylor couldn't get the bar up one time.

No wonder he has such problems shooting the 3, he can barely get the ball there!!

We'll see in about 3-5 yrs, I'm telling you, he will be one of the elite PGs in the NBA.

^^^^not seeing it....i mean it's being said that his best case scenario is Jose Calderon? decent player but that's a borderline Starter......Not saying Marshall isn't talented.....it's just that i think people are so in love with the "Pass First" title that they overlook his CRITICAL flaws that can't be fixed in just 3-5 years....he just doesn't have great potential to me....no superstar potential....no allstar potential....i barely see Starter potential.....it would be a sad day for me if he fell to us and we selected him....a player who basically is almost at his peak already.....

Kevin Durant couldn't bench his own weight and Jordon Farmar had a 42 inch vertical

Where do you see that? From mocks? Scouts? All player comparisons I have seen on him are Jason Kidd or Marc Jackson.

Admittedly i didn't see where myself it's just my friend told me that was a comparison on Draftexpress i believe...either way....those comparisons hold no weight....Marc or J-Kidd....bottom line he's not going to be a Starter until he can defend the PG position in the NBA.....he has trouble doing that at the College level.....It's the NBA....the cream of the crop.....i just see him having a difficult time adjusting to that jump in Talent from College to the Pro's......

I much rather roll the dice on someone with a mix of skills and potential.....Prospects like Quincy Miller/Tony Wroten/Marquis Teague those players can contribute now with their physical abilities plus they have high potential.....Marshall to me is almost at his peak physically....not saying he can't get better i mean look at Redick...but i'm not content with drafting someone that someday can be a solid starter for us.....i want somebody that could possibly be an All-star/Superstar.....but hey i've been wrong before

Did you see superstar potential in Rondo when he was drafted?

help

Guys, i dont see much college BBall, so the only infos i have from players r from draft site, from what i can see perry jones seems to be one of the most talented players in this draft.
Looking at video, it seems that he could become a great SF (maybe a poor version of durand), am i way off?

thx

Jones can't shoot outside of 12 feet. He's an athletic freak of a power forward who thinks he's a guard.

Did you see superstar potential in Rondo when he was drafted?

can't say that i did but to me he wasn't a one trick pony....he could do other things to affect the game....namely his athleticism comes into play here....it's just that with Rondo his BBIQ caught up with his Athleticism and now he's basically a walking triple double...To me the only thing Marshall does well is Pass that's the only tangible thing.....everything else is intangible...court vision/floor general... intangible....

i would like a little more Tangible to his game.....he just can't defend the PG position....He can't create on his own.....he doesn't have quick first step so he's not blowing by anyone.....his Lateral quickness leaves a lot to be desired for a PG......Didn't think Rondo could be a Superstar but i knew he was going to be a Bonafide Starter....Marshall i see as a career Backup.....it's only my opinion

Draft Express agrees with me about him being more like a Jose Calderon (something i called him very early on in this thread).

They give him Best Case: Andre Miller - Worst Case: Jose Calderon. That is more the range that is more accurate. Though Miller is a much better competitor on the defensive end and on the boards. Even with the Calderon comparison, he would need to improve his shooting to get to that level.

I think he is "Jose Calderon" at Best case if he develops his shooting, and at worse case a "Poor mans Calderon" sans the shooting if he doesnt develop it.

I don't see any reputable scout calling him Jason Kidd like. There is nothing similar to these two besides height and slightly similar skin tone.

Mark Jackson is too lofty to me, Mark Jackson was an extremely dynamic player.
A smart coach once said, "Potential just means you're not good enough yet." Playing on potential is like living on air: It's essential, but if thats all you have, you're eventually going to starve.
