Kyrie Irving might actually beat Kobe at this point, but not in trash talking.

Forget Dwight Howard, Kyrie Irving would look great in purple and gold.

It's actually a pretty comical exchange between these two dudes... But Kyrie is just WAY too confident that he could hang with Kobe 1-on-1!

If Kobe had to guard him 1 on 1 str8 up he would get burned but Kyrie cant hold him if he post up either.

Are half of you guys serious? Wow, Kobe is clearly the best 1 on 1 player in the league, only one who comes close is Melo. This would be in a half court setting, so Kyrie may blow past him a few times, but Kobe can stick with him for the most part. Did yall see his D in the game yesterday?

And more so, how the f would Kyrie stop Kobe? All he gotta do is post him up , and hit that fadeaway all day long. Yall are really underestimating Kobe here.

Kyrie's lightning fast and a damn good shot...
But if Kobe can keep the ball, he wins easy.

He has every reason to be. After all, if the 2012 Olympic team can beat the Dream Team then Kobe can beat this young kid :D

I totally know where you're coming from on this. But who would have a harder time stopping the other one on defense? Kyrie would get some buckets don't get me wrong. However how is Kyrie supposed to stop Kobe in the post? IMO Kobe would score all day!

I know Kobe's offensive repertoire certainly comes in handy for these type things, but there isn't going to be any foul calls for reaching in or anything of the sort. Kobe and his poor ball security self would get pick-pocketed and ran circles around by Kyrie. Of course the ran circles part is a tad hyperbole, but Kobe would definitely tire out first from having to score and more importantly defend Kyrie.

Good points Destro...

But what if they play winners outs? Kyrie would never get the ball back. Besides I think Kobe has a better skill set and basketball IQ. IMO Kobe would just find a way to win!

Stupid this is 1 on 1 Kobe would kill him. He can shoot over him at will or drive to the hoop unchallenge. Kyrie is too short and has no help defense it would be easy. Plus, no screeners to help him. He would have to try harder and would lose a rebounding battle easily.

Kobe would win, no question. It may even be close but still no cigar for Kyrie.

it'll be a good match up but I'll probably go with Kobe. especially if it'll be a physical game. Kobe's got the height, strength, and experience.
