Lately I've seen Kendrick Lamar's album propped up as the best thing this year...that can't be accurate, right?

Granted, I'm likely to love whatever Kelly Clarkson's latest release is.

They are serious. Section.80 was good but this new album is a masterpiece. It's by far the best album I've heard this year of any genre, granted I don't listen to Ke$ha.

We're just not going to agree on music, it's all good.

I'm seriously blown away by this Kendrick Lamar album. The strength of the narrative, the depth and intricacy of the lyrics, the simple gravity of the images. IMO this is going to stand up as one of the best ever.

It is the best of the year. You need to listen to the full album to understand what he's going for. Without the context of the album a song like backseat freestyle may not seem as great but when you understand how it fits into the narrative of the entire album it fits perfectly. He told his personal life story and made it accessible to the generic radio listener at the same time. It's genius imo.
