Steve Blake for Jason Maxiell. Why it makes sense? Will Bynum can't play next to Rodney Stuckey. Steve Blake on the other hand can play and play well next to a playmaking SG. Blake is an inexpensive backup and I expect Detroit to sign a guy next year to be a true backup anyway.

I have a question what are we going to do with Jason Maxiell because we already have a enough bigs unless we are trading one of them.

His contract is shorter and he gives you a tough big man that can hit the mid-range so when Blake Griffin is running by Pau we have a guy that can at least hedge well. Unlike Hill Millsap can play next to Howard effectively.

You mean Maxwell. Also bringing in Maxwell might mean Pau will be dealt.

Would the Hawks trade Smith and Teague for Gasol, Blake and filler?

I don't think so. Now that said it could be possible that L.A. is looking at another player and Smith is just a possibility. Paul Millsap is perfect for what L.A. needs right now. Remember how Marion made LeBron work on every play in the Finals? Millsap would do that and then some. He'd be affordable to resign compared to Pau, he's young enough, and he hustles on every play.

A pure excellent fit that has no future in Utah.

Pretty sure ATL would hang up the phone at that offer, eablink.

He can continue to sit on his ass wasting his days away on Twitter bitching about PT and how much of a victim he is. High return? Dwight will learn to shoot FT's before that happens. There isn't much promise there to counteract the risk. Do. Not. Want.

His price tag in a three-way deal is more reasonable. Utah fans won't go through the "we're sick of the guy, yet we're going to charge the moon for him" routine.

wait that makes zero sense to me. millsap is at worst an equal player on a far better contract and youre telling me utah fans would prefer gasol? its not like they have any albatross contracts they need to dumb.

No Millsap is a player that they need to get value for before he leaves and to open up playing time for their draft picks.

Something like Cleveland sends Thompson, two firsts for Gasol, the Lakers get a huge TPE, Millsap, and Utah gets value before he leaves.

*dump

Marvin Williams whose currently ballin'?

no need for Gasol there. they have a promising back up for Al in Kanter, Favors' development will stay stagnant when you swap Pau for Millsap. Al Jeff for Pau on the other hand can work with Utah. though I'm not sure how he'd work with Dwight.

I'm down that for deal. It was a rumor months ago from Ireland. Perhaps the recent Laker rumors about Smith are bargaining measures.

Steve Blake for Xavier Henry? New Orleans' PGs are terrible, absolutely terrible. Blake can play next to Rivers and help the young combo guard while hitting shots and at least try to get that team in decent offensive sets. I doubt New Orleans is looking to blow much cash next year and if they're going to sign a stopgap until they draft another PG at least Blake only has one year.

Another option would be Blake for Caroll since Caroll really doesn't play and will likely be bought out.

Lakers out: Pau Gasol, Duhon, 2nd round pick, and Steve Blake
Lakers in: Josh Smith and Iman Shupert

Atlanta out: Josh Smith and Devin Harris
Atlanta in: Amare, Duhon, and 2 second round picks

New York in: Pau Gasol and Steve Blake
New York out: Amare, 2nd round pick, and Iman

Ney york becomes freaking awesome.... We get more athletic (with a large expirign contract in Josh Smith), and get rid of Blake and Duhon...Atlanta gets their Center

you could take out duhan and Devin Harris from the whole deal... and it will still work.
