Is Lamar Odom done?

Post#1 » by sp6r=underrated » Sun Nov 18, 2012 3:24 am

If you think he's done please explain where you would rank his decline from 2011 to now. IMO, this is one of the greatest declines in NBA history.

If you don't think he's done, please explain how you think he can turn it around.

1. Needs to detach himself from all the leeches in his life.
2. Change his lifestyle, no more bling bling.
3. NBA needs to be priority, LO seems to distracted.
4. Change diet (no more candy). When you get older, you need to change your habits of eating and staying out late, can't do it like he was in 20s, take care of your body
5. Change workout routines, put in extra work, stay focus.

All of this, and Lamar could still be a really good player. Thing is, Lamar has never been the type of guy to do all those extra things... he's too laid back and go with the flow to care about killing himself to get into basketball shape.

Million dollar talent, only a thousand dollar interest in basketball.

He could come back if he ever felt the burning desire to re-enter the NBA at a high level. Doesn't sound like it, ATM.

To be honest, I feel like he has to become a Laker again to get his mind straight. It's strange but I don't see him being so lackadaisical as a teammate to Kobe. I think Lamar respects him too much as a player and leader to be a letdown to him.

To me, yes, he is done. He is not focused on basketball anymore, his mind is somewhere esle.

Pretty much this. It all started after the Dallas series in 2011.

Unfortunately, yes.

I was shocked when he got traded, too. Thank god he turned out to become Nash for us before he was completely done :D

Exactly. In big games, he always gave it his all and played with heart, but his preparation throughout the season was never good. I don't know why we would expect that to change. Dude's had a good career, 12 years about. Got a couple rings, got a 6th man award. I don't think it would kill him if his career were pretty much down from here.
Lakers fan since 99.

Yes he is done. As Bill Simmons said, the Chinese Basketball Association is now accepting applications for Odom.
