well, i think it was expected. They won't even be the same team when Rose comes back. They'll be better for sure, but they won't be as good as they were.

The Knicks have Brewer who was doing a lot of the same things. Fiesty D, awesome cuts to the basket. Gone.
Asik has been a great big in Houston providing very good defense and decent offense. Gone
CJ Watson was their backup point. I don't think the Bulls suffered that hard with Nate taking his place, but he's a short player and a defensive liability.

Those guys did all the little things and they were a part of a potent defensive 2nd unit. They've been replaced by guys that simply can't play the same D and don't really provide a big offensive punch. More pressure is being put on Noah to fill in for Asik's defense, but that's got to be a concern because Noah is injury prone.

Rose isn't fixing all of that and I don't know if the Bulls have the leverage to address the issues. I'd be surprised if they return to their former level over the past 2 years.

They lost their edge by letting all of their bench go. Now they have 5 players making $65M next season and that means they can't sign anybody to help them either.

This team has peaked. Unless they can trade Deng + spare parts for a true #2 option, they are done.

If there isn't any big trade changing the landscape of the east then it'll come down to Miami vs. New York in the east finals. Boston might have a shot at beating us but it'd take them a great series.

hoopsworld's most disappointing players - some familiar names - i'll just post this one

http://www.hoopsworld.com/sunday-topic-most-disappointing-player/
This season, through five games with the Raptors, Fields has only gotten worse. Despite starting every game, Fields has averaged just 2.4 points and 3.2 rebounds. He’s shooting a dreadful 20.8 percent from the field and has yet to hit a three-pointer this season. This season, Fields’ usage rate is a career-low 12.4, yet he’s turning the ball over on a career-high 16.5 percent of possessions. He’s missing wide open jumpers and uncontested lay-ups. Fields’ player efficiency rating through fives game is 1.4, which is by far the lowest of any starting player in NBA and well below the league average of 15. The Raptors are actually better when he’s not on the floor, as evidenced by his -.05 estimated wins added. Not only is Fields’ 20.8 true shooting percentage the lowest on the Raptors, it’s the seventh-lowest among all NBA players. His 20.8 field goal percentage is the lowest of any starting player in the league.

I was looking back at boxes from Friday and figured someone here was watching and could answer a question about Lin:

With 10 seconds left in the 4th Quarter, game tied, huge defensive stand needed from Houston, Douglas came in and replaced Lin. The game went to OT, ended up finishing with a 2 point Blazers win, and Lin never re-entered the game. Douglas subbed him out at the end of the 4th, and Lin never saw a second of floor time in OT.

What happened? Did he get hurt? Was it because Lillard was torching him? Can anyone who watched the game let me know what the deal is with what happened?

Not true; Lillard torched Douglas far worse than him, actually. Afaik, no one can really tell whether there was any rhyme or reason behind the decision.

Yeah, agreed. I hope they can pull off the trade; I kind of like that Bulls team and it really sucks for them what the whole Rose injury has led to.

Not gonna judge him because the season just began, but its looking like he is proving me right so far. Still think he is a mediocre player, but we will see as its to early to jump to any conclusions.

I can't stand the way the Nets announcer says Andray Blatche's name.

Rooting hard for the Kings this game.

BTW, prior to the start of the season I admit being worried about the Nets because they have a solid starting 5 but after watching them a couple times I can confidently say that I'd be surprised if a healthy Knick squad loses a single game in a playoff series against them. I don't think they're a threat AT ALL. Looks like your typical 45win-get trashed-in-the-first-round-of-the-playoffs-team.

If Tyson can stop Lopez, I think we're fine. I really don't like Melo v Humphries though...Humphries is a dirtbag on the court.

You might not wanna judge him at any point in the season if your source of information is going to be fdr2012's comments.

They are going to be a low seed in the East since the East is weak. They loss a lot of depth and no Rose but they are still an elite defensive team. A low seed in the East will often look like a lottery team when they go against an Elite Western Conference team at home so no surprise there. The Clippers are just a lot better than the Bulls plain and simple. I hate to say it but the West is just a lot more stacked. OKC, Spurs, Clippers, Lakers, Grizzlies would all be top 4 seeds in the East. They are all better than Boston in my opinion.

Rockets are embarrassing themselves.

And now the Lakers defense is embarrassing itself.

Interesting game...

Lakers are playing inside-out, will that continue under Pringles? Also, their offense is faster but they can't keep up the pace defensively--Hou is getting a lot of easy baskets.

LOL. My source of information is actually NBA.com:

10.3 ppg @ 34% shooting. Can you name another back-court player making $8M+ with worse production? Only guy I could think of is Stuckey.

Return to New York Knicks
