Hoopsworld posted a list of possible players on the move: http://www.hoopsworld.com/nba-am-an-ear ... ing-block/

Tying Raptors to Wilson Chandler (apparently he is obtainable though Denver won't just give him away). Jose is the obvious player on the block for us. Tayshaun and Derrick Williams are also intriguing.

A trade the could work well for both side is:

Bargnani + Calderon

For

Nene + Ariza

Washington would have to add some incentive for taking on longer term contracts, but those guys would fit in ideally with Lowry, DeRozan, and JV.

I'm sick of finding this thing to merge posts into, so it's now stickied.

I actually think Washington makes a lot of sense. They are in shambles and Bargs kind of fits for them. I'd be curious to see if they would take Fields + Ed Davis for Ariza

Trade 1

Raps Trade - Jose Calderon + Alan Anderson
Raps Receive - Danny Granger

Why, Indiana cant afford to resign Paul George and keep Granger. They unload him and get a serviceable starting PG and some depth in Anderson. Lance Stephenson also looks like he might be able to fill the scoring void of Granger.

Trade 2

Raps Trade - Bargnani + Fields + Ed Davis
Raps Receive - Okafor + Ariza

Why, Toronto gets a starting C and a defensive stopper in Ariza that gives us the ability to play small. Bargnani fits with the Wizards who are weak at PF. Wiz take back a bad contract in Fields, but get a high upside PF in Davis

Raps - Use Granger as a point forward and play small, or go big and start Amir and use Ariza off the bench.

Lowry - Lucas (Sign a vet FA)
DeRozan - Ross - (Sign a vet 3 point specialist)
Ariza - Kleiza - McGuire
Danny Granger - Amir Johnson - Quincy Acy
Emeka Okafor - JV - Gray

you guys need to shut up about tradin demar derozan, he aint going no where unless we landin a superstar caliber player, no1 at the sg position has as much potential as demar, no1 outside of kobe and d wade has a better post game than demar in the post and/or mid range, demar is one of the top players at the 2 spot to get to the FT line per game. Demar will only get better, once demar adds on even more strength and a more consistent 3 point shot he will be nearly unstoppable, but we can only hope n wait, .. and tyreke for demar or paul george for demar? u gotta be kidding me.. not only is tyreke's height is too small for the sg position at around 6'4ish, he may have the strength but he lacks the heart n passion to play, dude is playing like a role player in sac town right now. For paul george,.. didn't you guys watch the game on wednesday.. Demar destroyed him in post.. him stevenson and green.. George cudnt even sink tht open mid range jumper to tie the game... + George is 2x slower than demar.. mid range isnt as gd, hes jus a spot up shooter from 3 and is sumwhat athletic.. n avg defender.. at 6'9. Case closed..

Minnesota gets:
Terrence Ross
Aaron Gray
John Lucas III

Toronto gets:
Derrick Williams
Luke Ridnour

BC gets his SF of the future or PF replacement, or just a player who can fit in a rotation easier than Terrence because of fitting at 2 positions

Minnesota gets a SG who hits 3 beside Rubio and Shved and dumps some 2013-2014 salary

No one in Minny thinks Williams can (or should at least) play SF, why should we? If he was solid enough there, there's no way Minny would trade a pick for Budinger just to bury him on the bench. I'd only consider that trade if we successfully traded Bargnani for good value (and knew we could get SOMETHING of value for Jose).

A second year player like Derrick Williams isn't going to help us. JV at 20 is already a better player than Bargs. Whatever we trade him for I hope they can defend the perimeter. This teams suks at guarding the long ball.

Which Dead Weight Contract do you want to absorb for a pick?

Post#291 » by grumpwalter » Wed Nov 21, 2012 2:33 am

As this team seems disinterested in making the playoffs, with no pick this summer, we desperately need to acquire a pick. Only two ways to acquire a 1st round pick
1- pay a big price
2- rid the other team of some dead weight

since nobody wants a bunch of disinterested bums, our only option is 2 with Calderon's expiring contract.

I can only think of a few off the bat

John Salmons and Travis Outlaw (will take both if it means getting a pick)
Channing Frye (their owner is very cheap)
and I am even desperate enough to even take on Hedo Turkoglu, and I am not kidding.

I hear you but next year I give slim to no chance anyone in the lottery even sniffs a deal that doesn't return them an all-star calibre player. Next year's draft will rival 03' and may actually be deeper (although I don't think anyone will be quite Lebron)....

Don't sleep too much on Williams. He has been very active this year. Last year, he was stuck behind several players when he should have had development time, and wouldn't have gotten enough time this year until the injuries hit. As long as Pekovic actually plays (so, you know, there is a semblance of spacing for he offense) Williams has looked quite good--blocking shots, rolling to the hoop, running the floor and yes, even making threes.

I really liked him in college, and yes, he is a hybrid. But there aren't many true threes out there, so we could really do worse. He would basically be like a pick Casey could play--because he's been to the show and back,

Having a perimter threat on offense and some damn help for the shotblocking would be tremendous. I just don't know if Ross would cut it. Even if he doesn't turn into a star (and I like his motor a lot) I guarantee this kid is going to be a decent rotation guy. Just not having to play **** Kleiza so much would be a relief. In fact, Kleiza would be someone i'd try to dump (I mean, sell) to them.

Toronto
Bargani
Calderon

To

Detroit
Tayshaun Prince
Charlie Villuenva
Will Bynum

Prince helps Raps at sf right away Charlie can be used off the bench for scoring as a strecht 4manI don't think he mind playing there the raps won't bench COlangelos prized number 1 pick and Will Bynum will be main back up over Lucas I think this is salary dump for pistons the get rid of two contracts and get calderrons exp contract plus they have maggettes there gonna have a lot of cap space pls Drummond won't be ready for couple years so Bargani can fill pf spot for monroe whille he play center then when drummond ready monroe slide over to pf

Jonas,Amir,Grey
Davis,CharlieV,Acy
Prince,Mcuire,Klieza
Derozen,Ross,Fields
Lowery,Bynum,Lucas

Ppl gonna say what bout scoring Lowery and Derozen main vocal point on offense and Prince can put up ok numbers Bargani scores but the guy take so many god damn shots and sHoots the raptors out of the game

No, not even close.

You're giving them talent AND cap space, and only get back one semi-useful over-30 vet?

To NO
Calderon
T Ross

To IND
E Gordon (with solid knees, cough)

To RAPS
P George

NO does it to free themselves from Gordon and fully rebuild around Davis
IND does it to get a primary perimeter scorer as Granger is out for a while and George just does seem to be that kind of player (at this point)
TO gets his SF of the future

I would throw Fields in there somewhere
