Raps gauging Bargnani's value, reach out to Minny

Post#1 » by Hassassin » Fri Dec 14, 2012 7:27 pm

Not sure if posted.

That hasn't stopped Kahn from answering the phone, though. League sources insist both Cleveland and Toronto have reached out in recent weeks.

The Cavaliers are gauging interest in center Anderson Varejao, whom I'm told the Timberwolves like a lot. He's signed through 2015 at less than $10 million per season.

Before he suffered a one- to two-month elbow/wrist injury earlier in the week, the Raptors were putting out feelers about big man Andrea Bargnani.

i doubt Minny would want him.

Crazy enough, I think he's the perfect fit beside Love.

Love gets criticized by fans for stat padding useless rebounds and Bargs gets criticized by fans for not rebounding enough. Go figure.

Kevin Love would average 18 RPG with Bargnani playing alongside him.

That interior D between Love and Bargs would be non existent. They wouldn't be stopping anybody. But hey, loads of spacing with those two. Casey would bust a nut watching them.

Meh, would be more interesting if a team was calling for Bargnani.

I thought teams were constantly calling trying to pry Bargs and Jose out of TOR. Isn't this what BC has been selling us on for years.

But now we have to call around and 'gauge his value'. That tells you all you need to know. Nobody really wants him and we will have to sweeten the deal to unload him.

Probably asking about D Williams. I liked a previously proposed trade with Jose and Ross and filler going to Minni for D Williams and Luke Ridnour.

Kind of a dumb thing to ask, when 90% of the league are black dudes.

Like, "Do you need a black guy?", is that redundant?

Exactly.

For a team without a talent issue we sure are desperate to acquire talented guys to add to our roster.

If you read the actual link, you would see that it was the Cavaliers "gauging interest" in Verajao. The part about Bargnani was that the Raptors were putting out feelers.

Not a big difference, mind you, but Hassassin's choice of thread title didn't help.

A player's value will be a constantly changing thing, depending on how he's performing, his contract, what other team's have or need at a particular time, and his health. I don't see anything wrong with articles stating that the Raptors are putting out feelers or gauging interest - it means they are out there trying to work something out and get the best deal possible. If you want him gone, why would you complain about this?

for example, if we read "Raps unwilling to gauge interest on Bargnani, view him as future star to build around" I would be a hell of a lot more worried.

(or any sort of variation that implies they are unwilling to investigate trade scenarios)

BC should just call DAL to propose a AB trade for Dirk.

Why? A younger Dirk lite with potential to grow for an old Dirk, who might only decline in the years to come. Plus, they're both injured now. The timing couldn't be more right.

I'm sure Cuban will be salivating all over the place just from hearing it.

....

I think this is the first "horrible" post I have read from you ... granted I haven't read many of your posts. Cuban would never do that to Dirk.

Return to Toronto Raptors
