They will be titanium by that point either way me thinks.

From our boy Zgoda...

* Brandon Roy practiced fully and intends to do so tomorrow. If Friday's workout goes well, he said there's a chance he could return for the first time since Nov. 9 for Saturday's game.

"If everything feels good, I'll talk to Coach and see if Saturday is the day," he said.

Roy did 5-on-5 half-court work on Thursday and will scrimmage with his teammates on Friday in his first back-to-back practices since he underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee five weeks ago.

"These two days are good for me," Roy said. "Today was a good day, so going again tomorrow will just give me the confidence and reassurance that I can go out there and play in the game."

Ugh. I was hoping to see him play for 10-15 minutes to avoid another game of Barea or Luke trying to defend their opponents.

His 2nd year is already unguaranteed, right?

Correct - he will not make the minimum requirements to guarantee his next year, so he's conceptually just an expiring now.

Personal Reasons that the Wolves didn't disclose. He's probably contemplating retirement. Solid move Kahn

“@BloodStrib: Here at Target Center for wolves morning and saw the press room apparently set up for press conference. Interesting. http://t.co/5C1NIzcp

“@DarrenWolfson: From two emails in the last hour: something definitely seems up with B-Roy. #twolves”

“@WojYahooNBA: Minnesota's Brandon Roy has had setbacks in knee rehab and a return date is uncertain, league source tells Y! Sports.”

“@DarrenWolfson: Brandon Roy's camp got back to me. They are offering no comment at this time. #twolves”

He's done I have a feeling. He knows it. Too bad he had to go out this way but at least he gave it a shot.

He fooled himself into thinking he could come back because he didn't feel pain (or had minimal pain) months into his "retirement." And he was probably bored and missed competing. I feel bad for the guy, he's probably feeling somewhat lost.

I was shocked when people started talking about him playing again recently. I am not at all surprised if he hangs it up.

To summarize the CBA, if Brandon Roy retires:

A. Since he will not make the minimum requirements in his contract, next year is not guaranteed, and he is effectively a zero-production expiring. His salary counts for the rest of this season.

"Compensation Protection for 2013-14 is full, but protection for injury or illness is subject to elimination if player re-injures a past physical condition. Compensation Protection for 2013-14 will remain full in spite of above referenced potential injury if player is (i) on team's Active List for 65 or more 2012-13 Regular Season games or (ii) plays at least 1,400 minutes during the 2012-13
Regular Season."

B. Waiving him will result in a roster spot, giving us the space to add two players, since Josh Howard's space has not yet been filled.

C. MIN can apply for a Disabled Player exception by January 15th. If the NBA grants it, they will have a $2.65 mil exception for the rest of the season, that they can use on a free agent, or to "trade" for a player who is in the last year of his contract and making no more than $2.75 mil.

“@DarrenWolfson: I bet I'm in the minority, but I won't knock Kahn/Bayno on wanting Roy. It was a 1-yr roll-of-the-dice. Yes, I get that it failed. #twolves”

It was a ton of money they spent on him though when they could have attempted to get Mayo or Crawford

I said it during the off season, I REALLY wanted Crawford and Lee and i'm still pissed we got neither.

I did warm up to B-Roy and didn't expect him to retire this early, but when I saw the Raptors game earlier this year, he just looked like he was going down the road to retirement.
